Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) provides a visual Web GUI for developers. Typically, developers need to manually open and access the bound localhost server in a browser. The deepseek-harness-gui plugin resolves this disconnect in the workflow. It embeds the existing dsh Web GUI into a native Glimpse window, making the interaction more seamless.

Plugin Overview

This is a small DSH bundle maintained by oodzchen. Its core function is to open the dsh Web GUI in a native Glimpse window.

The plugin itself does not include a new chat implementation or RPC bridge. It simply acts as a navigator, guiding the window to the localhost server bound by the dsh Web profile.

Core Features

  • Opens the dsh Web GUI in a native Glimpse window.
  • Navigates to the bound localhost Web server.
  • Supports command-line arguments: --gui (enable GUI), --host, --port, and --trusted-host.

Installation and Configuration

Before installation, make sure that your dsh environment has the Web profile installed and the frontend build completed.

Run the following command to install the plugin. Note that, because glimpseui contains a platform-native host, you must explicitly specify --allow-build=glimpseui during installation; otherwise, pnpm will ignore the build scripts.

dsh plugin --profile web add --allow-build=glimpseui deepseek-harness-gui

After installation, the plugin will replace the default web command-line provider.

Usage

When starting dsh, simply use the --gui argument.

dsh web --gui
# 或
dsh --profile web --gui

Applicable Scenarios and Notes

  • Platform requirements: Supports Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Prerequisites: Node.js and Glimpse native host support for the current platform are required.
  • Security note: The installation command includes --allow-build, which allows pnpm to build dependencies. Make sure you trust the plugin’s source code before performing this operation.

Summary

Through simple integration, this plugin presents the DSH Web GUI as a native window in the local environment, reducing the need to switch to a browser. For more details and the source code, see GitHub.
