DeepSeek Harness (DSH) core design philosophy is “everything is a plugin”. For developers, building a plugin from scratch involves scaffolding, debugging, environment validation, and other fragmented steps. dsh-thunderforge aims to consolidate these steps into a single Bundle and provide one-stop development support.

Core Capabilities

The plugin includes five core modules:

  • thunderforge-capture: Handles LLM payload capture. It provides data collection through a transparent proxy, key masking, key rotation, and an index.jsonl index stream.
  • thunderforge-skills: Builds a four-layer knowledge base, including an entry index, architecture standards, a pitfall handbook, and profile-adaptive expression.
  • thunderforge-scaffold: Provides conversational scaffolding. It includes three zero-dependency templates, and the generated skeleton comes with smoke tests for direct validation.
  • thunderforge-debugger: Implements a dual data source trace waterfall. It aligns session logs and capture payloads at millisecond level to facilitate debugging.
  • thunderforge-profile: Provides profile management and one-click dev preset functionality. This only creates a new environment and never touches existing configurations.

Installation and Activation

Install it through the official CLI:

dsh plugin --profile <profile名> add dsh-thunderforge

After installation, restart the corresponding application (profiles are composed at startup; if using the Web interface, restart dsh web) to activate the plugin. You can verify that the plugin loaded successfully with the following command:

dsh --profile <profile名> --dump-config

To remove it, you can run the following command at any time:

dsh plugin --profile <profile名> remove dsh-thunderforge

Typical Usage

Using dsh-thunderforge, the complete development and debugging workflow can be connected: create → develop → debug → validate environment → release.

  • Scaffolding generation: Use the conversational tool to call thunderforge_scaffold and obtain a plugin skeleton with debugging instrumentation and smoke tests.
  • One-click development environment: Generate a dev preset, then install the plugin under test into the isolated profile to keep the development environment clean.

Example conversation command:

dsh --profile <你的profile> 调用 thunderforge_scaffold ...

Example of generating a development preset:

# 对话指令
帮我生成一个 dev preset,短名 demo

Notes

  • Stack order hint: If you add dsh-thunderforge to an existing profile, make sure it is placed at the front of the dsh.profile.bundles array in the profile’s package.json file (higher priority than @deepseek-ai/dsh-base). This is critical for the capture module to take effect.
  • Upstream licenses: The plugin integrates multiple upstream components (such as dsh-plugin-dev-skills and dsh-plugin-guide). Any rights claims over upstream components are governed by the original text of each upstream license. In particular, for Apache-2.0 components, the original license and NOTICE must be retained at the file level as required by the license.

Summary

dsh-thunderforge provides a complete DSH plugin development toolchain, solving the fragmentation among development, debugging, and validation through a unified Bundle. It is suitable for developers who need to quickly build, debug, and validate DeepSeek Harness plugins.
