Introduction¶
During the development and debugging of DeepSeek Harness (DSH), dependency management is often opaque. When troubleshooting issues, developers frequently need to confirm the exact versions of the current Harness, plugins, and their dependencies, and verify whether declared dependency ranges match the actually resolved versions. This plugin addresses this pain point by providing visualized version information in the settings panel.
What Is This¶
dsh-version-inspector is a plugin maintained by NEVSTOP-LAB that adds a Version Information page to the DSH settings panel, presenting version details for the Harness, plugins, and their dependencies in a compact multi-column tree structure. The plugin follows the MIT License.
Core Features¶
The plugin adds a dedicated page to the settings panel, primarily providing the following capabilities:
-
Tree-style display
Dependencies are divided into three groups:- DeepSeek Harness (dsh): Displays the Harness version and top-level dependencies.
- Plugins: Displays other mounted plugins and their versions (excluding this plugin).
- Current plugin: Displays the plugin’s own version,
dependencies, andpeerDependenciessubtrees.
Nodes support expansion and collapse.
-
Detailed information
Each dependency displays the following fields:- Name (package name)
- Resolved version (the actual installed version)
- Declared range (e.g.,
^x.y.z) - Section (dependency / peer dependency / optional dependency)
- Resolution path
-
Anomaly detection
Dependencies that the host cannot resolve (for example, client-onlyreactor uninstalled optional dependencies) are marked with a warning color and display their declared range. -
Layout and interaction
- Compact multi-column layout: Uses an adaptive grid layout (
auto-fill), laying out long lists horizontally to reduce scrolling. - Search filter: Supports filtering by package name or version; results are displayed by group with counts.
- Theme adaptation: Automatically adapts to light / dark modes using DSH theme variables.
- Compact multi-column layout: Uses an adaptive grid layout (
Installation and Enablement¶
Before installing, ensure that the dsh CLI (version 0.1.0-rc.6 or higher) is installed and running.
Install from the GitHub repository:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:NEVSTOP-LAB/dsh-version-inspector
It is recommended to pin the commit to avoid changes from future updates:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:NEVSTOP-LAB/dsh-version-inspector#<commit-sha>
You can also install from a tarball downloaded from Releases:
dsh plugin --profile web add ./dsh-version-inspector-0.1.2.tgz
After installation, open the DSH settings panel. The Version Information page will appear at the end of the navigation list (order 1000). You can confirm that the plugin is active by running the following command:
dsh --profile web --dump-config
Notes¶
- Permission notes: The plugin collects data through read-only interfaces on the host side and serves it to the client via the same-origin route
GET /version-info. It does not perform sensitive operations. - Dependency requirements: Requires dsh CLI version 0.1.0-rc.6 or higher.
Conclusion¶
This plugin provides an intuitive version inspection tool for DSH plugin development and debugging. With tree-style structure and multi-column layout, it helps quickly locate dependency issues. For more details and source code, see its GitHub repository.
