Preface

The plugin system for DeepSeek Harness (dsh) allows users to extend client behavior. By default, the send and line-break key bindings for the chat input box are controlled by the browser or framework, which may not match the habits of some users. The dsh-enter-send plugin solves this problem by adding a configuration option that allows switching between “Enter to send” and “Ctrl+Enter to send”.

Plugin Introduction

This is a client plugin maintained by Nalleyer. Its core functionality is to remap the send / line-break bindings for the chat input box and to add a “Send Shortcut” option on the Settings → General page.

Core Features

  • New setting: Adds a “Send Shortcut” option on the Settings → General page.
  • Dual-mode support: Supports both “Enter to send” (default, preserving native dsh behavior) and “Ctrl+Enter to send”.
  • Line-break handling: Shift+Enter inserts a line break in both modes (browser default behavior, not intercepted).
  • IME compatibility: Pressing Enter during Chinese input method (IME) composition input is always allowed and will not send messages accidentally.

Installation and Enablement

Before installing, ensure your dsh version is 0.1.2-rc.1 (web platform) or higher.

  1. Run the installation command:
    dsh plugin --profile web add github:Nalleyer/dsh-enter-send
  1. Restart dsh web for the configuration to take effect.

Note: When installing from git, the installation process runs the prepare script automatically to build. If using pnpm ≥ 10, the first add may fail. You need to configure the profile’s pnpm-workspace.yaml as follows:

Then rerun add.

Typical Usage

  1. Open Settings → General.
  2. Select “Enter to send” or “Ctrl+Enter to send” from the “Send Shortcut” option.
  3. In the chat input box:
    • When “Enter to send” is selected, normal Enter sends the message and Ctrl+Enter inserts a line break.
    • When “Ctrl+Enter to send” is selected, Enter inserts a line break and Ctrl+Enter sends the message.
  4. Shift+Enter is always used to insert a line break.
  5. During Chinese IME composition input (such as candidate selection), pressing Enter does not send the message; it only confirms the candidate.

Notes

  • Permissions and Security: This package declares a dsh.bundle manifest, and the auto-load line is automatically written into the profile’s patch layer after add. Before installing, verify that the source code is trustworthy, because the build process is executed with the current process permissions.
  • Uninstall residue: After uninstalling, the residual enter-send section in $DSH_HOME/settings.yaml is harmless and can be removed manually.
  • Compatibility: With the default value enter, normal Enter behavior is fully consistent with the official behavior, making upgrades seamless.
