Introduction

The DeepSeek Harness Web interface currently primarily supports Chinese and English. For developers or users who prefer Spanish, the dsh-espanol plugin provides a complete Spanish localization solution. It is a community-maintained plugin that follows the opt-in principle and does not force changes to the user’s language settings.

Plugin Overview

dsh-espanol is the Spanish (es) language pack for the DeepSeek Harness Web GUI. It is maintained by user mscnegocio-del, distributed via npm, and does not require manual Git build steps.

The plugin’s core features include:
* Registers a Spanish dictionary for 29 UI namespaces.
* Adds an Español option to the language selector.
* Includes translations for 718 strings.
* Supports automatic browser language detection.

Installation and Enablement

Before installing, make sure pnpm is installed and available in the system PATH.

  1. Execute the installation command:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-espanol
  1. Verify that the plugin has been added to the current configuration:
    dsh plugin --profile web list
  1. Restart the DeepSeek Harness session, then go to Settings -> Language.
In the language list, you should see the Español option.

Usage Behavior

  • Opt-in behavior: The plugin does not force users to switch to Spanish. English and Chinese users are unaffected.
  • Automatic detection: If the browser’s preferred language is Spanish and the user has not stored a Chinese or English preference, the plugin automatically selects Spanish.
  • Term retention: Technical terms and placeholders remain in their original English form, such as token, API, Cordis, HMR, and placeholders like {count} and {name}.

Known Limitations

  • Preference not persisted (v1): The plugin cannot persistently save the Spanish language selection after a restart. If the user manually switches the language in the browser, it may revert to the default language (Chinese or English) after restarting. The current solution is to rely on automatic browser language detection.
  • Some strings remain in English: Menu descriptions and permission preset names (such as Read Only and Workspace Write) are provided by the host configuration and are outside the translation scope of this plugin.

Summary

dsh-espanol introduces Spanish support to the DeepSeek Harness Web interface, making it suitable for users who need to develop or interact in Spanish. It addresses language switching persistence through automatic browser language detection while preserving key technical terms.
