When developing or debugging agents in the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) Web interface, project-level instruction files (such as AGENTS.md) are usually stored locally. Viewing or modifying these files often requires switching to a file manager or external editor, interrupting the context of the current session. The mrwoov/dsh-agent-md plugin solves this problem by providing a direct entry point for editing AGENTS.md in the Web session interface.
This is a DSH Web GUI plugin. It adds an “Agent” tab to the session header tab bar, alongside “Chat” and “Trace”. Its main purpose is to let users browse and edit the AGENTS.md file under the project directory corresponding to the current session directly in the browser.
Core Features¶
- In-session Tab: Adds an “Agent” tab to the session header tab bar, alongside “Chat” and “Trace”, allowing switching at any time without leaving the current session.
- Automatic Location: Automatically locates
AGENTS.mdunder the project directory of the current session; if the file does not exist, saving the entered content automatically creates it. - Editing Experience: Edits directly using a monospace font, displays an “Unsaved / Saved” status at the top, and supports one-click saving to disk.
- Context Isolation: Switching sessions automatically loads the corresponding project’s
AGENTS.md, preventing cross-file or cross-directory loading.
Installation and Activation¶
- Place this package in the
~/.dsh/profiles/web/node_modules/@mrwoov/directory. - Append the following content to the
~/.dsh/profiles/web/cordis.patch.ymlfile:
- insert:
- id: agent-md
name: '@mrwoov/dsh-agent-md'
- Restart the dsh process.
Typical Usage¶
The plugin interacts with the backend through HTTP interfaces and provides the ability to read and write a project’s AGENTS.md:
- Read:
GET /api/agent-md?path=<project directory>returns{ exists, content }. - Write:
POST /api/agent-md?path=<project directory>with body{ content }writes to<directory>/AGENTS.md.
Technical Notes¶
- Pure JavaScript: No build step; copy and use it.
- Hot Update Limitations: The DSH patch hot-update semantics are “add/modify only, no deletion”. If you modify the package name or configuration combination, you must restart the dsh process for the changes to fully take effect (for example, renaming can leave both old and new artifacts, and a 404 on the old bundle URL can break the page).
- Implementation: The
hostside (lib/index.js) registers the/api/agent-mdroute and reads/writes files; theclientside (lib/client.js) is registered into theconversation.viewslot.
Ecosystem and Background¶
This project is developed based on DeepSeek Harness’s Cordis plugin mechanism and depends on the official Web UI components. It is a community plugin in the DeepSeek Harness ecosystem, not an official DeepSeek product.
