Introduction

When developing or debugging with DeepSeek Harness, interface feedback is often limited to text. Developers need an intuitive way to confirm the AI’s current state (such as whether it is running or waiting for interaction). dsh-pixel-liangzu provides a pixel-style desktop pet that reflects system state through visual changes.

Plugin Introduction

dsh-pixel-liangzu is a playful dress-up plugin developed by maintainer mobius. It maps the performance slider levels in DeepSeek Harness and the conversation execution state to specific character actions and appearances.

Core Features

The plugin aligns system state and visual presentation through two core rules:

  1. Performance Slider Mapping
The pet character switches according to the 6-level settings in dsh-performance-slider. The slider level determines the character’s appearance (from a skinny office worker to a crowned emperor).

  2. Conversation State Mapping
The pet actions switch according to the conversation snapshot state, including Idle, Rest, Working, Completed, and Waiting.

Installation and Activation

  1. Ensure that pnpm is installed in your environment.
  2. Run the installation command:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:mobius/dsh-pixel-liangzu
  1. Restart the dsh web service to load the plugin.

Typical Usage

  1. Switch Character: Drag the performance slider in the Harness interface; the pet’s appearance changes accordingly.
  2. State Feedback: When you send a message to the AI, the pet enters the “Working” state; when awaiting approval, it enters the “Waiting” state; and when a task is completed, it displays the “Completed” state.
  3. Preview: Without installing it into a DSH environment, you can directly open demo/index.html in the project directory to test it.

Technical Implementation

  • Data Source: The pet reads the performance slider level in real time from localStorage, cookie (dshps_level), and DOM attributes.
  • State Subscription: It subscribes to the conversation snapshot and determines actions based on fields such as running and pending.

Customization

  • Replace Assets: Directly replace the GIF files under the assets/gifs/ directory (keep the naming convention).
  • Modify Logic: Edit the state mapping logic and UI text in lib/client.pet.js.

Notes

  • The plugin was previously named dsh-pixel-pet; it has been renamed to avoid conflicts.
  • The floating position and level preferences are stored in localStorage and cookie.

Conclusion

This plugin enhances the interactive experience of DeepSeek Harness with simple visual elements. For more details, see the GitHub repository.
