Preface

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture. Developers need to keep the desktop client synchronized with the source code. The dsh-update-check-plus plugin is used to automatically detect updates and provide feedback in the interface, avoiding oversights caused by manual checks.

Core Features

The plugin provides dual-channel update detection and one-click installation capabilities:
1. Desktop Updates: Detects versions through the official interface (dshdesktop.cn), supports one-click downloading of NSIS installers, and automatically restarts.
2. Source Code Updates: Detects the GitHub repository and supports downloading the latest source code zip file.
3. Interface Feedback: Displays a status pill in the session header, and shows version comparison and update logs in the panel.

Installation

Run the following commands in the terminal to install it:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-update-check-plus
dsh plugin --profile desktop add dsh-update-check-plus

After installation, restart DSH or switch the profile to make it take effect.

Configuration

Find the dsh-update-check-plus section in the DSH settings and configure it:

  1. intervalHours: Check interval (default is 12 hours).
  2. autoDownload: Automatically download the zip file when a new source code version is found.
  3. enableDesktopUpdate: Enable the desktop update channel.
  4. downloadDir: Specify the download directory (shared for installers and source code, default is ~/.dsh/update-check-plus/downloads).
  5. repo: GitHub source code repository (default is deepseek-ai/deepseek-harness).

Notes

  1. Version Source: Desktop updates will upgrade Harness to the latest version distributed via dshdesktop.cn (currently DSH Desktop 2.0.0).
  2. Data Security: Session and configuration data are stored in ~/.dsh, and the update process will not affect this data.
  3. Installer Source: Downloaded installers are provided through official channels, and the plugin does not modify any binaries.
