DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture, and the default Web UI style is relatively generic. Users who prefer local deployments or need a specific visual style often need to write plugins to override the default styling. dsh-815-skin is a historical-archive-style skin designed for the DSH Web GUI, primarily addressing the plain appearance of the default interface.

This plugin is maintained by lengduan and categorized as “fun reskin”. It replaces the default chat area background in the DSH Web GUI with Chen Jian’s oil painting September 9, 1945, 9:00, shows a small Blue Sky with a White Sun flag when a session is selected, and also updates the title bar branding.

Core Features

  • Immediate effect and restoration: Takes effect immediately after loading; automatically restores the DOM structure, CSS styles, and document.title when uninstalled.
  • Visual override: Replaces the default Web UI background with a historical 1945 end-of-war appearance (oil painting background, Blue Sky with a White Sun flag for the selected session, and title bar branding).
  • Data isolation: The background image is embedded into the client bundle at build time as a data URL; no network access occurs at runtime.
  • Node marking: Adds data-vj-session* attributes to the selected session row.

Installation and Enablement

Installing this plugin requires the --profile web parameter to add the package to the Web GUI configuration.

dsh plugin --profile web add @lengduan/dsh-client-ui-skin-815

To uninstall, use:

dsh plugin --profile web remove @lengduan/dsh-client-ui-skin-815

If you need to develop from source, first clone the repository, run pnpm install and pnpm build, then install it from the local path:

dsh plugin --profile web add .

Acceptance Criteria

After installation, start the DSH Web GUI. The minimal acceptance criteria are:

  1. document.body has the data-dsh-815 attribute.
  2. The chat area background displays Chen Jian’s oil painting September 9, 1945, 9:00.
  3. When a session is selected, a small Blue Sky with a White Sun flag appears on that row.

Applicable Scenarios and Limitations

This plugin is only applicable to the Web GUI form (dsh web or --profile web). It does not read or write session data, modify model invocations, or access the network, and it does not affect Agent behavior logic.

  • Not suitable for: TUI / headless modes, or scenarios requiring changes to Agent behavior, tool permissions, or theme engine configuration.
  • Permissions: The host-side apply() is a no-op; all effects are implemented in the client bundle. It does not handle user keys.

Notes

Uninstallation automatically restores the DOM, CSS, and page title. Because DSH mainline updates frequently, DOM classes or token names may drift. If after upgrading DSH you find the chat area is obscured by the background color, check whether the CSS selectors in the plugin need to be updated.
