Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) can be extended with plugins. For users who frequently converse or develop within the DSH interface and need to play background music or listen to books while working, switching application windows often breaks their flow. This plugin uses a dual-side structure between the Host and Web sides to integrate music playback, lyrics display, spectrum visualization, and AI book reading into DSH’s Web interface, satisfying the need to complete audio playback inside the conversation window.
Core Features¶
The plugin provides local audio streaming playback and multiple playback modes, supporting resume playback after refresh, sequential playback, single-track loop, and shuffle playback. The playback panel supports real-time spectrum visualization and can switch between a bar chart and a waveform chart. For local music, the plugin supports embedded lyrics, LRC files, and online lyric matching, and can prevent the computer from sleeping. The playback panel can be freely dragged and resized, and its position and size persist across refreshes.
AI Book Reading and Tools¶
The plugin supports AI voice reading of local .txt / .epub files, automatically recognizes the title, foreword, chapters, and epilogue, and provides four Chinese AI voices. The Agent can call playback through the music_play model tool; for example, entering “Play Jay Chou’s songs” triggers playback. In addition, the plugin provides a daily news broadcast feature. The Agent can search online for top Toutiao headlines and generate a broadcast script, or directly play an internet radio station using the music_play tool.
Online Music and Internet Radio¶
The plugin supports multiple audio formats (mp3/m4a/flac/wav/ogg/webm, etc.) and can scan and display audio quality levels. The panel supports custom playlist management and favoriting. For integrations, the plugin includes built-in entry points for online music (QQ Music, Kugou Music, NetEase Cloud Music), supporting QR code login and browsing playlists, charts, and search. It also supports internet radio, using the radio-browser global open radio directory and supporting HLS streaming.
Installation and Setup¶
Before use, ensure the dsh CLI is installed.
- Install the plugin:
Run the following command to install it (replace<profile>with the actual profile name):
dsh plugin --profile <profile> add dsh-music-player
- Configure and start:
After installation, restart DSH and open the Web GUI. Click the list button to the right of the playback bar to open the playback panel, then click “Select music directory” at the top of the panel and choose the target directory (default:~/Music). The plugin will recursively scan it automatically.
Typical Usage¶
- Agent playback: Enter “Play Jay Chou’s songs” in the chat box; the Agent calls the
music_playtool to start playback. - Internet radio: Enter “Play internet radio 中国之声” in the chat box; the Agent uses the
music_playtool withsource=radio. - AI book reading: Drag a local
.txtor.epubfile into the chat box; the Agent will automatically recognize the chapters and read them aloud. - News broadcast: Ask the Agent to collect top Toutiao headlines, organize and filter them, and broadcast them using an AI voice.
Technical Details and Notes¶
The plugin uses a dual-side architecture between the Host side (Node.js) and the Web side. Configuration and state are persisted in the Host-side file ~/.dsh/music-player-prefs.json, including volume, playback order, panel position, and playback progress. When upgrading from an older version, legacy data is automatically migrated to the Host side.
Usage Declaration:
The online music features (QQ Music, Kugou Music, NetEase Cloud Music) access services through unofficial interfaces and are intended only for personal learning, technical research, and everyday listening. They must not be used for commercial purposes, public distribution, or profit-making activities. Any account risk-control actions, bans, or copyright disputes resulting from the use of unofficial interfaces are the user’s responsibility. Internet radio data comes from CC open data and is for personal listening only; do not record or redistribute it.
