Introduction¶
When using DeepSeek Harness (DSH) for AI coding or assisted work, you may sometimes encounter long waits or task gaps. To reduce fatigue caused by prolonged focus, you can create a mini panel at the bottom of the workspace and embed a standalone “Guandan” card game in it. This plugin requires no backend support and runs directly in the browser, making it suitable for entertainment while waiting for AI code generation or strategic thinking.
Plugin Overview¶
The plugin is named dsh-guandan and is maintained by developer jansen-66. It is a Web plugin package (Cordis plugin) whose core function is to embed a standalone Guandan card game as a bottom panel in the DSH interface. The plugin occupies the bottom layout of the workspace; click the button at the bottom of the sidebar to expand a game bar about 96px high. The center column content will be pushed upward and will not obscure the left sidebar.
Installation and Enablement¶
The plugin has been synced to npm and can be installed via the DSH official command-line tool.
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-guandan
After installation, restart the DSH process. A “♥️ Guandan Game” button will appear at the bottom of the sidebar; click it to start the game. If you do not want to use plugin mode, directly opening guandan/index.html in a browser will also start a pure front-end Guandan game.
Interface Layout¶
The top of the game bar is the status bar:
* Theme Switching: The 🌙 icon on the left switches between light and dark themes. Plugin settings automatically follow DSH global settings.
* Information Display: counts shows the remaining card count for each player; turn-info shows the current turn hint; game-info shows the current level/round number.
The center area is the hand area, displaying the player’s hand. The action bar contains “Pass” and “Play” buttons (grayed out when it is not the player’s turn). Sidebar buttons include “New Game” (restart the whole round), “Log” (view the play process), and “Cancel” (clear the current card selection).
Basic Operations¶
The plugin supports keyboard controls. The main keys are as follows:
* Space: When it is your turn, play or pass; when the hand ends, proceed to the next deck; confirm the tribute card.
* C: Pass.
* N: Clear the current card selection.
* V: Toggle the card table overlay.
Playing Steps:
1. Select Cards: When it is your turn, click a hand card to select it (highlighted and lifted); click it again to deselect.
2. Play Cards: After selecting cards, click “Play”. If you click directly without selecting any cards, the system prompts you to select first; click again before the prompt disappears to pass directly.
3. Pass: Click “Pass” to decline. Note that as the first player or when required to play, passing is not allowed, and the system will prompt you.
4. Cancel: Click “Cancel” to clear selected cards and select again.
Card Table Overlay and Review¶
Click once in an empty area of the game bar (not a button or card) to toggle the full-screen “Card Table Overlay”. The left side of the overlay is a combined-card list, automatically grouping card combinations such as singles, pairs, and straights. Clicking a combination automatically selects the corresponding hand cards; double-clicking selects a single card. The center area displays the four-player table (partner on top, upper hand on the left, lower hand on the right, yourself at the bottom), and shows remaining card counts and the last play.
Review Feature:
The plugin supports review and trial play. In review mode, hand cards are automatically grouped and displayed vertically; double-clicking the list enters a full-board trial. If the table size is larger than 540px, all hand cards are displayed vertically during review. Use the “Return” feature in the top buttons to go back to the original review state.
Notes¶
- Standalone Runtime: The game is a pure front-end standalone version. AI plays automatically, and the player only needs to act within their turn.
- AI Strategy: Due to capability limitations, the AI strategy cannot cover all situations and is mainly intended for entertainment.
- Maintenance Status: Future updates to the project are paused unless obvious bugs are found.
- Permissions and Security: The plugin runs with the current DSH process permissions. It is recommended to inspect the source code and license before installation.
Conclusion¶
This is a lightweight entertainment tool built using the DSH plugin ecosystem, designed to provide developers with brief relaxation between work tasks. Through the embedded panel design, it allows you to play Guandan without leaving the IDE interface. More details and source code can be found in the project directory or the GitHub repository.
