In the development workflow of DeepSeek Harness (DSH), managing skill files usually relies on command-line operations. For users accustomed to using a Web interface, there is no visual entry point to browse, preview, or operate on skill files. dsh-skill-manager provides this kind of Web-based skill management interface.

What Is This

dsh-skill-manager is a DSH Web GUI plugin maintained by user jackmis0724. It aims to address the lack of intuitive skill management on the Web and allows users to interact directly with the skill system in the browser.

Core Features

The plugin provides the following capabilities:

  1. Browse directories: View the skill directory structure associated with the current session.
  2. Preview content: View the specific content of a skill directly in the interface.
  3. Import skills: Supports importing new skills from GitHub repositories, Web links, or local files.
  4. Create skills: Create new skill entries in the interface.
  5. Delete skills: Supports deleting a single skill and batch deletion operations.

Installation and Enabling

Add the plugin using a CLI command:

dsh plugin --profile web add https://github.com/jackmis0724/dsh-skill-manager

After installation, the Web interface will load this module.

Typical Usage

  • Entry point: Go to the Settings panel in the Web interface and select “Skill Management”.
  • Host API: The plugin provides an API in the Host half at the path /api/dsh-skill-manager/*. This API only supports loopback mode, consistent with the runtime mode of the dsh-ssh plugin.
  • Underlying interaction: Operations read from and write to the user’s skill directory via the harness’s skills registry.

Notes

  • Read-only protection: Deletions are strictly restricted. Only entries located within $DSH_HOME/skills or $DSH_AGENTS_HOME/skills can be deleted. Skills located at other paths cannot be deleted.
  • Symbolic links: If a skill is a symbolic link, deletion only removes the link itself and does not touch the source file it points to.
  • Sandbox execution: All file operations follow the sandbox policy of the current session.
  • Path determination: When the session working directory (cwd) does not include the Git root directory, the upstream skill-filesystem may incorrectly classify user skills as project-dsh. This plugin determines skill ownership based on the physical path and is unaffected by this.

Summary

dsh-skill-manager provides DSH Web users with a complete skill management toolset. Through the Settings panel, the entire workflow—from browsing to importing, creating, and deleting—can be completed, improving the efficiency of skill management in a Web environment.
