Introduction

The design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” For developers working in a Russian-language environment, the default Chinese interface significantly increases operational costs and reading load. The dsh-locale-ru plugin provides full Russian support, covering the official Web UI, the DSH Desktop client, and the community plugin marketplace.

What Is This?

This is an open-source plugin maintained by imdeniil under the MIT License. It translates the DeepSeek Harness Web interface, the DSH Desktop client, and the community plugin store into Russian, and supports automatic switching based on the browser language.

Core Features

The plugin implements translations by extending the locale.register(ns, 'ru', dict) API, with the following coverage:

  1. Core UI translation: Translates 849 lines of code and covers 30 namespaces. It includes core interfaces such as sessions, workspaces, settings, conversations, tools, subagents, workflows, traces, tasks, skills, and goals.
  2. Interaction details: Includes notifications, beta-test prompts, and folder selection dialogs.
  3. Community plugin marketplace: Supports full interactions with the community plugin marketplace, including browsing, installing, uninstalling, enabling, and disabling plugins.
  4. Automatic detection and fallback:
    • If the browser language is Russian or Belarusian and neither English nor Chinese is explicitly selected, the interface automatically switches to Russian.
    • Explicit selection of English or Chinese has the highest priority.
    • For missing keys in the dictionary, it automatically falls back to Chinese (zh) at runtime.

Installation and Activation

After installing the plugin, switch the language in the settings to apply it.

  1. Install the plugin
Run the following commands in the terminal:
    # Web 端安装
dsh plugin --profile web add github:imdeniil/dsh-locale-ru

    # DSH Desktop 安装
dsh plugin --profile desktop add github:imdeniil/dsh-locale-ru
  1. Enable Russian
After installation, go to Settings → Language and select «Русский».
    • If the system browser language is Russian, the interface will automatically switch to Russian after restarting the application.
    • You can also explicitly select English or Chinese in Settings to override automatic detection.

Notes

  • Dependencies: The plugin depends on the official client packages, including @deepseek-ai/dsh-client-locale, @deepseek-ai/dsh-client-runtime, and @deepseek-ai/dsh-client-ui-settings.
  • Platform support: Currently supports the Web platform.
  • Priority logic: Explicitly selecting English or Chinese overrides the automatically detected Russian setting.

Conclusion

For developers who need to work with Russian-language workflows or use a Russian-language interface, dsh-locale-ru provides the necessary localization support. You can view the full documentation and source code at: GitHub.
