When pairing a phone in the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) WebUI, you usually need to manually visit a specific port or open a new browser tab. The dsh-remote-qr-button plugin adds a floating entry point in the bottom-right corner of the WebUI; clicking it directly launches the pairing flow within the app, without switching windows.
What Is This¶
This plugin is a companion UI component for dsh-remote-link. It does not provide the pairing service itself; instead, it provides an entry point for displaying the pairing QR code in the desktop WebUI.
Core Features¶
- Floating Entry Point: Adds a floating button in the bottom-right corner of the DSH WebUI.
- In-App Launching: After clicking the button, an in-app overlay appears, displaying the phone pairing QR code.
- Environment Detection: The button is shown only when accessing the WebUI from
127.0.0.1orlocalhost; ifdsh-remote-linkis not installed, it shows a “No gateway detected” message instead of a dead link.
Installation and Enablement¶
Make sure the dsh-remote-link plugin is already installed before installation.
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-remote-qr-button
Typical Usage¶
- Ensure
dsh-remote-linkis installed and running on the system. - Access the DSH WebUI from a local address (
127.0.0.1orlocalhost). - Click the floating button that appears in the bottom-right corner.
- View the QR code and pairing short code in the popup overlay.
Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
- Electron Compatibility: Because Electron desktop windows intercept cross-origin iframe navigation, directly using an
<iframe>pointing to a local port results in a blank area. This plugin uses a same-origin<img>tag to render the QR code, ensuring it displays correctly in both browsers and desktop clients. - Mutual Exclusion Logic: This plugin shares the same ID as the button injected by
dsh-remote-link. If one of them is mounted first within the same process, the other skips mounting to avoid duplicate rendering. - Access Restrictions: This plugin only covers WebUI pages accessed directly via
127.0.0.1:3080, and it is effective only under these local access conditions.
Ecosystem Context¶
The plugin architecture of DSH allows developers to extend WebUI functionality. This plugin is maintained by the community and aims to improve the convenience of local development and debugging.
