Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) adopts a plugin-based architecture. When developing or running agent tasks, developers need to be promptly informed of session creation, task completion, task interruption, or pending approval status. dsh-notify is designed to solve this status awareness problem by providing a layered notification solution ranging from in-app pop-ups to system native notifications.

Plugin Purpose

This is a client plugin maintained by having5548, licensed under the MIT open-source license.

Core Features

  • In-App Notifications: When the DSH interface has focus, a Telegram-style Toast appears in the upper-right corner and a notification sound is played.
  • System Native Notifications: When focus is outside the application, Windows 10/11 or macOS displays a system Notification Center message.
  • Web UI Settings Panel: Supports managing the master switch, notification channel switches, scenario switches, and viewing the latest 100 notification logs.
  • In-App One-Click Approval: For pending approval scenarios, the in-app notification directly provides “Approve” or “Reject” buttons, allowing processing without opening the session.
  • Zero Extra Dependencies: It does not depend on third-party libraries and is implemented using built-in system APIs.

Installation and Activation

  1. Ensure the installation package is downloaded (version 0.3.1).
  2. Run the installation command:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-notify-0.3.1.tgz
  1. After installation, restart DSH Web GUI for the configuration to take effect.

Typical Usage

  • Go to the Settings → Notifications panel to manage switches or test notification functionality.
  • In-App: When focus is on DSH, the system displays a notification in the upper-right corner of the interface and plays a notification sound.
  • Outside the App: When focus leaves DSH, the system triggers a native notification.
  • Pending Approval: When there are pending items, return to the DSH interface, where the in-app notification displays Approve/Reject buttons; if you are outside the app, you receive a system reminder.

Use Cases and Notes

  • Platform Support: Only Windows 10/11 and macOS are supported.
  • Native Notification Limitations: Native notifications are reminder-only; clicking them has no callback or activation functionality (to avoid false positives from security software).
  • Processing Flow: For pending approvals, be sure to return to the DSH interface to process them; do not rely on click activation of native notifications.
  • Persistence: Settings are persisted through DSH’s official settings system and require no additional configuration.
