In debugging and demonstration scenarios for DeepSeek Harness (DSH), the conversation flow often contains a large number of tool call cards and thinking blocks. This content is valuable for troubleshooting, but it can create visual noise when reviewing final results. This article introduces the dsh-tool-fold plugin, whose core purpose is to collapse all processing-related content under a single toggle. It is hidden by default and retains only user messages and assistant replies, providing a cleaner view.
Core Features¶
- Maximum fold mode: By default, all tool call cards (
[data-chat-flow-kind="tool-call"]) and thinking blocks ([data-variant="think"]) are completely hidden. The conversation interface shows only user messages and assistant replies. - Global toggle control: Show or hide content using the global toggle in Settings. Turning the toggle on restores native rendering for all content, ensuring no content is lost.
- State persistence: The fold state is saved in the browser’s
localStorage, so the state remains unchanged after refreshing the page. - Rendering adaptation: Automatically adapts to streaming and virtualized rendering without modifying host code.
- Visual distinction: Processing blocks (such as thinking blocks) are highlighted in brand blue when expanded, visually distinguishing the “processing flow” from the “final result”.
Installation and Enablement¶
This plugin is a pure client-side plugin. Before installation, make sure the environment satisfies the following dependencies:
@deepseek-ai/dsh-client-runtimeis required@deepseek-ai/cordis(^4.0.1) is required
Installation and enablement steps:
- Download the plugin code to a local path, for example
/path/to/dsh-tool-fold. - Run the installation command:
dsh plugin --profile web add /path/to/dsh-tool-fold
- Restart the
dsh webprocess and refresh the page. - Open Settings -> General Settings (position 15) and find the “Global fold toggle” to control it.
Typical Usage¶
- View the original stream: Enable the global fold toggle in General Settings. All tool call cards and thinking blocks in the conversation will be highlighted in brand blue, restoring the complete processing flow.
- Get a clean view: Disable the global fold toggle to hide all tool calls and thinking blocks, keeping only user questions and assistant replies for a simpler interface.
Notes¶
- Ecosystem note: This plugin is maintained by the community and has no direct affiliation with official DeepSeek.
- License: Based on the MIT license.
- Security check: It is recommended to review the source code and license before installation to ensure compliance with usage requirements.
With the above configuration, developers can preserve conversation completeness while flexibly switching between “clean mode” and “debugging mode”.
