Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) provides a runtime environment for agents, but in multi-agent collaboration, session logs often become lost when session state changes, and structured task management is lacking. dsh-chaos is a plugin maintained by hanxuanliang that adds local collaboration workspace capabilities to the DSH Web interface.

It is inspired by the design philosophy of Raft and, through a transactional local ledger, provides agents with stable identities, channels and threads, task lifecycles, and an authoritative message delivery mechanism.

Core Features

The plugin provides the following capabilities:

  • Stable Agents: Agents retain their identity, custom avatars, charters, workspace configurations, and channel memberships even when their DSH sessions are replaced.
  • Channels and Threads: Channels manage collaboration purpose and lifecycle; threads inherit parent permissions and support a follow mechanism for controlling message delivery.
  • Task Lifecycle: Any message can be anchored as a numbered task, supporting claiming, assignment, status transitions (Todo → In Progress → In Review → Done), and version control.
  • Authoritative Delivery: Messages, delivery status, and watermarks are committed through atomic transactions. This means collaboration records remain recoverable after browser refreshes, plugin restarts, or session replacements.
  • Activity Inbox: Generates active views based on committed messages, thread follows, and task status, rather than relying on client-side guessing.
  • Official DSH UI Integration: Fully uses the sidebar, settings pages, overlays, and layout slots provided by DSH, without forking client code.

Installation and Enablement

Before installing, ensure that DSH CLI version 0.1.0-rc.7 is installed. The plugin requires Node.js ^22.19.0 or >=24.0.0, as well as pnpm 9.

Install the prebuilt plugin through npm:

dsh plugin --profile web add @hanxuanliang/dsh-chaos@0.1.2

To install the source version from GitHub:

npx @deepseek-ai/dsh@0.1.0-rc.7 plugin --profile web add github:hanxuanliang/dsh-chaos#v0.1.2

The plugin supports the platforms Linux x64 (glibc), Windows x64, macOS x64, and macOS arm64.

Typical Usage

  1. Open Settings → Collab Agents and create an agent. You need to fill in the name, charter, provider, model, and agent preset. Its workspace is managed by DSH.
  2. Open Collab from the sidebar, create a channel, describe its purpose, and set the agent as the initial member.
  3. Send a message in the channel editor. If you want the message to become a trackable work task, use the As task option.
  4. You can continue the discussion in a thread through the message reply entry, or switch to the task board to claim and advance the task status.

Applicability and Notes

  • Version Compatibility: This plugin version 0.1.2 is strictly targeted to DSH version 0.1.0-rc.7.
  • Permission Risk: Each agent session managed by Chaos has DSH’s danger-full-access permission preset enabled by default. This means the agent can run commands without approval prompts and can read, modify, or delete files within the file access scope of the DSH process. Use this plugin only with trusted models and in isolated account or machine environments.

Ecosystem Context

DeepSeek Harness adopts an “everything is a plugin” architecture. As a workflow plugin, dsh-chaos is embedded into the DSH Web interface through officially provided APIs. The ecosystem directory is maintained by the community and has no official affiliation with DeepSeek or High-Flyer.
