Preface

When developing with the DeepSeek API or building agent workflows, real-time monitoring of account balances and token consumption across different Providers is key to controlling costs and troubleshooting issues. Existing dashboards often make it difficult to aggregate usage data from all Providers in a single interface, and balance query endpoints may be fragmented. This plugin uses a draggable, collapsible floating panel to display the DeepSeek Open Platform account balance and today’s token usage across all Providers and all models within the DeepSeek Harness Desktop interface.

Plugin Overview

This plugin is maintained by developer Hades03 and is released under the MIT License. It is customized from the upstream project dsh-cost-meter 1.5.38 and reuses the local ledger to preserve historical data. The plugin primarily provides statistics in two dimensions: first, the account balance of the official DeepSeek platform; second, detailed token consumption across all local Harness Providers.

Core Features

  1. Balance Query: Displays only the DeepSeek Open Platform account balance. The public release build accesses only the official balance endpoint.
  2. Token Summary: Aggregates today’s token usage across all Providers and all models.
  3. Detailed View: Lists input tokens, cache reads, cache writes, output, and total tokens by Provider / model.
  4. Interaction Controls: Supports “All / DeepSeek” filtering and manual refresh; the panel supports dragging and automatically remembers its position.
  5. Edge Anchoring: Uses screen-edge anchoring so that the position does not drift when expanding or collapsing.
  6. Restore Default: Double-clicking the title bar or the collapsed floating bar restores the default bottom-right position.
  7. Automatic Refresh: Automatically refreshes local statistics every 60 seconds.
  8. Historical Reuse: Reuses ~/.dsh/storages/cost-meter/ledger.json to preserve existing history records.
  9. Reasoning Token Handling: Reasoning tokens are displayed separately in model details and are not included in the total, avoiding double-counting when some Providers already include reasoning tokens in output.

Installation and Enablement

Run the following command in the terminal to install the plugin:

dsh plugin --profile web add "github:Hades03/dsh-model-quota-usage"

After installation or update, restart the DeepSeek Harness Desktop application.

Usage Instructions

  1. After starting the application, a floating panel appears in the bottom-right corner.
  2. After the panel finishes loading, you can view the DeepSeek account balance and today’s total token usage.
  3. Click the filter button to switch between “All” and “DeepSeek” models only.
  4. Drag the panel title bar to adjust its position; the panel automatically snaps to the screen edge.
  5. Double-click the title bar to reset the panel to the default bottom-right position.
  6. The panel automatically refreshes local statistical data every 60 seconds.

Applicable Scenarios and Notes

  • Version Requirement: Ensure DeepSeek Harness version >= 0.1.1-rc.2 and the environment has Node.js >= 20.
  • Data Scope: Token statistics cover all Harness Providers such as DeepSeek, Kimi, GPT, GLM, and Claude, but do not query the account balances of these Providers (only the DeepSeek balance is queried).
  • Data Privacy: The token ledger is stored only locally, includes no telemetry, and does not upload session titles or token history.
  • Dependent Services: The DeepSeek API Key is read by the Harness credential service.
