Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) users generate a large amount of session history over long-term use. Directly inspecting raw logs makes it difficult to quickly understand workflow efficiency, habits, or bottlenecks. This plugin reads DSH’s sessionQuery service and converts raw sessions into structured local review reports, helping answer questions such as “which type of work required the most effort” or “where did tool failures or retries occur”.
Plugin Information¶
- Name: dsh-session-insights
- Purpose: Workflow review plugin
- Author: GreenLv
- License: MIT
Core Features¶
This plugin generates a local HTML dashboard and JSON report containing session history, providing the following views:
* Overview and Time Comparison: View sessions, task families, Token usage, and changes between two time periods.
* Workflow Breakdown: Analyze projects, roles, representative workflows, and completion evidence.
* Usage Patterns: View daily active-time trends, session types, tool/plugin/MCP usage, file types, and local active time slots.
* Wins and Friction: Evidence-based strength identification, as well as failure signals, retries, and other items requiring investigation.
* Recommendations: DSH workflow suggestions based on measured evidence and copyable prompts.
In addition, it supports offline reports, multiple privacy modes, and automation via CLI and native commands.
Installation and Enablement¶
This plugin requires DeepSeek Harness and Python 3.11 or newer. The currently validated compatibility baseline is DSH 0.1.5-rc.2.
- Install the plugin package:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-session-insights
- Start the corresponding Profile:
dsh web
Typical Usage¶
Run the native command in DSH Composer to generate a review report:
/session-insights --days 30 --locale en
This command writes the results to $DSH_HOME/insights/runs/<run-id>.
For automation or non-Bundle environments, you can use the CLI tool:
python3 scripts/bootstrap.py install --dsh-home "$DSH_HOME"
Then view the report via CLI:
dsh-session-insights report --dsh-home "$DSH_HOME" --days 30 --locale en --format html --output ./dsh-insights.html
Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
This plugin is a behavioral review tool, not a telemetry or quality-judgment tool. It does not provide real-time monitoring or billing calculations.
- Privacy Control: The plugin provides three privacy modes (
redacted, metrics, local) to control report content and data retention during the semantic analysis phase. - File Location: Generated reports are not allowed in the
$DSH_HOME/sessionsdirectory, ensuring separation from the source log tree. - Dependency Check: Before installation, ensure the system environment meets the requirements for Python 3.11+ and DSH 0.1.5-rc.2.
Ecosystem Context¶
This plugin is available via npm, GitHub Releases, or community directories (such as dsh.pub).
