Overview¶
The core design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is pluginization, aiming to extend agent capabilities through composable components. When developing an Agent that needs real-time intelligence from X (Twitter), calling APIs directly often faces complex authentication or high costs. The dsh-grok-xsearch plugin uses SuperGrok OAuth authentication and leverages the xAI Responses API to provide DSH Agents with a complete set of X intelligence acquisition and analysis tools, replacing the costly X API premium tier.
Plugin Positioning¶
The plugin is maintained by GooDAnDReaREADY and is a Node.js-based toolkit. It provides DeepSeek Harness with real-time X (Twitter) search, trend discovery, author profiling, and technical stance analysis capabilities, while also integrating community fact-checking and multimodal content understanding.
Core Features¶
The plugin registers multiple dedicated tools, covering the full pipeline from search to in-depth analysis:
- Real-time Search & Intelligence: Supports natural-language search and filtering by date range, language, and engagement metrics (likes/retweets), with support for understanding images and videos.
- Author Analysis: Allows inspecting the timeline of a specific expert or developer and analyzing their recent technical stances and viewpoints.
- Trend Discovery: Mines real-time hot topics and virally spreading discussions in specific domains such as technology, AI, and cryptocurrency.
- Fact-checking: Integrates community notes to verify specific claims or news, and find expert rebuttals and corrections.
- Thread Reading: Supports reconstructing a complete discussion thread from a Tweet URL or ID, and extracting tabular data.
Usage Examples¶
The plugin registers the following tools in the DSH Agent’s ctx.tools:
- x_search: Uses natural language to search X posts, threads, and media. For example, search for developer discussions during a specific time period and filter original posts containing links.
- x_author_profile: Analyzes the technical stance of a specific expert (e.g.,
@ylecun) in recent discussions, or focuses on the debate history for a specific topic. - x_trending_topics: Discovers emerging topics and hot discussions within a specific domain (e.g.,
aiorcrypto). - x_fact_check_notes: For a rumor or news claim, finds community notes and expert corrections on X.
- x_thread_reader: Reconstructs long multi-tweet discussions via URL or ID, including key community replies.
Installation & Dependencies¶
The plugin is an npm package. Before installation, ensure the environment meets the following requirements:
- Node.js Version: 20 or higher.
- Peer Dependencies: The plugin depends on the following DSH core components:
"@deepseek-ai/cordis": "^4.0.1",
"@deepseek-ai/dsh-credentials": "^0.1.0-rc.6",
"@deepseek-ai/dsh-host-webserver": "^0.1.0-rc.6",
"@deepseek-ai/dsh-settings": "^0.1.0-rc.6",
"@deepseek-ai/dsh-tools": "^0.1.0-rc.6",
"@deepseek-ai/schemastery": "^3.18.1"
- Installation Method: Install the package name
@goodandready/dsh-grok-xsearchvia npm.
Notes¶
- Authentication Requirement: SuperGrok OAuth authentication must be configured to use the plugin; otherwise, it cannot connect to the xAI API.
- API Limits & Fallback: The plugin uses the xAI Responses API. When it encounters rate limiting (429), a built-in intelligent fallback mechanism can attempt to downgrade calls to Grok 4.5.
- Runtime Permissions: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. It is recommended to check the source code and license (MIT) before installation.
- Ecosystem Context: This plugin is a community-developed DSH plugin and has no affiliation with DeepSeek or High-Flyer.
