Existing configuration often cannot directly control the Web page background. This plugin extends the configuration options and adds background control directly at the interface layer.

web-background is a DeepSeek Harness plugin for controlling the background of the Web interface. It provides solid color, image, and opacity controls, stores configuration in browser local storage, and synchronizes across multiple tabs.

  • Mode switching: Choose under Settings → General → Web Page Background: None, Solid Color, or Image.
  • Solid color setting: The solid color mode supports a color picker.
  • Image upload: The image mode supports local upload, and the system automatically compresses it to a data URL.
  • Opacity: Supports 0–100% background opacity adjustment.
  • Reset and sync: Supports one-click reset to the default background. Settings are stored in browser localStorage, and refreshing the page or opening a new tab automatically restores and synchronizes the settings.

Installation and Enablement

Before installing, make sure DeepSeek Harness is installed and you have operation permissions for the Web profile.

  1. Install from the Git source:
   dsh plugin --profile web add "github:lndyzwdxhs/web-background#main"
  1. Install from a local directory:
   cd /path/to/web-background
   pnpm install
   pnpm run bundle
   dsh plugin --profile web add .

If you encounter the ERR_PNPM_ADDING_TO_ROOT error, append the -w flag:

   dsh plugin --profile web add -w .
  1. Enable the plugin.
    To make the plugin take effect, restart the Web service:
   npx @deepseek-ai/dsh web

Notes

  • For local development, run pnpm install and pnpm run bundle first.
  • Settings are stored in browser localStorage and are automatically restored after a refresh.
  • Background settings are synchronized automatically across multiple tabs.
  • Before installing, review the source code and license (MIT).
