Introduction¶
The pricing structure of the DeepSeek API changed on 2026-08-16 16:00 UTC, introducing peak and off-peak rates. During peak periods, rates are twice the off-peak rates, and the windows roughly align with business hours. If overlooked, this can increase costs. The dsh-peak plugin makes these windows visible in the DeepSeek Harness interface.
Core Features¶
The plugin provides two forms of visibility:
1. Composer pill (browser-side): Located to the left of the input line. It displays red “PEAK” or green “OFF-PEAK”. It includes a countdown to the next transition and a hover tooltip showing UTC and Beijing time.
2. Host-side tool: Registers a dsh_peak_status tool that the agent can call before execution to check the current status.
Pricing Windows¶
| Window | UTC | Beijing |
|---|---|---|
| Peak 1 | 01:00–04:00 | 09:00–12:00 |
| Peak 2 | 06:00–10:00 | 14:00–18:00 |
| Off-peak | All other times | — (half of peak) |
Installation¶
Use the official command to install:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-peak
Or install directly from GitHub:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:geokkjer/dsh-peak
Install from a local repository:
cd /path/to/dsh-peak
dsh plugin --profile web add .
The dsh plugin command runs pnpm add in the configuration file directory and registers the package as a bundle layer (dsh.bundle.patch → cordis.patch.yml). After restarting dsh web, both parts are activated: the host side registers dsh_peak_status, and the browser side mounts /plugins/dsh-peak/client.js via the dsh.client declaration, displaying the pill in sessions.
Usage¶
The pill itself requires no interaction; it auto-refreshes every 30 seconds and changes color at window boundaries. The agent can check the status by calling the dsh_peak_status tool.
- Query status: Ask “is it peak pricing right now?” and the agent will call
dsh_peak_statusand return the result. - Plan tasks: Tell the agent “run this long job off-peak”, and the agent will first check
dsh_peak_status, then suggest execution during off-peak hours or issue a warning.
Notes¶
- Requires a DeepSeek Harness web profile (the plugin is primarily browser-side).
- No runtime dependencies: The host side is defined using
ctx.tools.register; the only external dependency in the client bundle is React. - License: MIT License. Please review the source code before installing.
Ecosystem Context¶
The philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” This plugin is published in the community directory and has no official affiliation with DeepSeek / Huanfang.
