Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness adopts an “everything is a plugin” architecture, aiming to improve development and interaction experiences through modular extensions. For developers who need to observe an agent’s reasoning process intuitively, simply reviewing text logs is often not sufficient. The dsh-plugin-matrix plugin provides a CLI-style full-screen terminal page that transforms the Agent’s reasoning process into a “The Matrix”-style code rain, while maintaining normal streaming output of the response content.
Plugin Introduction¶
This plugin is maintained by Gastronomicluna and is a pure client-side bundle plugin. It intercepts and projects DeepSeek’s reasoning stream to render a vertically arranged code rain effect in the browser. The page shares the same conversation with the home page, and messages are synchronized bidirectionally.
Core Features¶
- DeepSeek Pixel Icon: Displays a pixelated version of the official whale logo at the top center of the CLI page. It is downsampled and enlarged via canvas and enhanced with a blue glow.
- CLI Full-Screen Terminal Page: Click “Matrix Mind” at the bottom of the sidebar to enter a black background terminal page. Message history, tool calls (
▸), and errors (✗) are all projected in a terminal style. - Reasoning as Code Rain: While the Agent is reasoning (a turn is running and the response body has not yet been output), the reasoning content is grouped by reasoning segments, arranged vertically, and randomly distributed to fall down different columns. When idle, a very faint ambient rain is displayed.
- Normal Streaming Response Output: When the response body begins to output, the reasoning rain becomes ambient rain, and the body is streamed and printed in the terminal.
- Top Control Bar: Provides rain speed adjustment (0.25×–4×), an ambient rain density toggle, conversation name display, and a close button.
- Shared Conversation: The conversation on the CLI page is the current conversation, supporting
session.prompt()(queue/steer) andsession.cancel()operations.
Installation and Activation¶
Run the following command in the plugin directory (web profile):
dsh plugin --profile web add "."
Or after installing the release package:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-plugin-matrix
After installation, restart the web service to apply the changes:
dsh web
Typical Usage¶
- Install the plugin and restart the service.
- Click “Matrix Mind” at the bottom of the sidebar to enter the full-screen black background terminal page.
- Type a message and press Enter to send it.
- Press Enter while running to interrupt and steer.
- Press
Ctrl+Cto stop generation. - Press
Escto close the page.
Use Cases and Notes¶
- Environment Recommendation: This plugin is recommended to be used in low-light environments to achieve the best glow and code rain visual effects.
- Development Debugging: The plugin supports HMR hot reload. After directly modifying the
client/client.jsfile, the changes are automatically applied to the running page. - Code Audit: Because it is a pure client-side bundle plugin, it is recommended to review the source code and license (MIT) before installation.
Conclusion¶
This plugin visualizes the abstract reasoning process, making it tangible, and is suitable for development scenarios that require an immersive experience.
