Introduction¶
The philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” When using the Herdr multiplexer to manage multiple agent sessions, being able to see the current status of dsh-TUI (working / blocked / done) directly in the sidebar can greatly improve the intuitiveness of task tracking. The dsh-tui-herdr plugin synchronizes the dsh-TUI lifecycle status to Herdr in real time, giving it the same visualization treatment as official agents such as Claude Code and Kimi.
Core Features¶
- Real-time status reporting: Push dsh-TUI lifecycle events to Herdr in real time.
- Sidebar display: Directly display the current status (
working / blocked / done) in the Herdr sidebar. - Automatic activation/dormancy: Detect
HERDR_PANE_ID, automatically activate inside a Herdr pane, otherwise automatically go dormant, with zero overhead. - Fire-and-forget mode: Reporting does not depend on a Herdr connection; if Herdr is unavailable, it will not drag down the host.
Installation¶
This plugin has not yet been published to npm. You need to download the packaged tgz file from the repository to install it locally.
- Download the tgz file (open and save it in a browser, or use
curl -LO):
https://github.com/FUSU123fusu/dsh-tui-herdr/raw/main/dsh-tui-herdr-0.1.0.tgz - Run the installation command (replace it with the actual download path):
dsh plugin --profile dsh-tui add file:C:\path\to\dsh-tui-herdr-0.1.0.tgz
Before installation, make sure the herdr CLI is in the system PATH.
Usage¶
Ready to use after installation. Start dsh-tui inside a Herdr pane, and the corresponding status line will appear in the sidebar.
/herdr: View the current pane ID, report source, and status mapping./herdr ping: Send a test report with state idle.
Principles and Limitations¶
Herdr’s native detection for new agents requires a binary update. This plugin is implemented by using the official custom reporting API (herdr pane report-agent). When the environment variable HERDR_PANE_ID is detected, the plugin listens for dsh events and reports them:
turn/start: status changes toworkingapproval/asked: status changes toblockedapproval/resolved: status changes toworkingturn/end: status changes todone
Currently, only top-level session events are reported; subagent sessions do not generate reports, consistent with the behavior of the official web client.
Notes¶
- The Herdr CLI must be available in the PATH.
- It has not been published to npm yet; download the packaged tgz file from the repository to install it.
- Only top-level session events are reported; subagent sessions do not generate reports, consistent with the behavior of the official web client.
Conclusion¶
This plugin resolves the pain point of tracking dsh-TUI session status in Herdr and enables visualized lifecycle management. For more details, please refer to the GitHub repository.
