Introduction

In the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) Web profile, developers usually need to complete coding and debugging within the conversation window. When video references are needed, opening an external player interrupts the current workflow and consumes extra screen space. The dsh-video-player plugin integrates a video player into the chat input box area, providing a solution that does not take over the full screen or disturb the interface.

What Is It

dsh-video-player is a plugin maintained by fuhuonvshen. It “hides” the video player inside the DeepSeek Harness chat input box. It does not change the overall page layout; by rendering the video within the input box area, it allows video playback and text input to coexist.

Core Features

  • Position and State Switching: The video is hidden by default. When the mouse moves out of the input box, the video fades in and continues playing; when the mouse moves back to the input box to type, the video pauses automatically.
  • Multi-Platform Support: Supports Bilibili native playback (pause/resume/precise progress bar control), YouTube, Vimeo, and direct mp4 links.
  • Control Bar: A vertical control bar is located on the right side of the input box and includes play/pause, progress bar, time, video switching, and close functionality.

Installation

Install it using the official command:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:fuhuonvshen/dsh-video-player

It activates automatically after installation. Refresh the page to use it.

Usage

  1. Copy the link of the target video (supports Bilibili, YouTube, Vimeo, or direct mp4 links).
  2. Press Ctrl + Alt + V, paste the link in the pop-up input box, and press Enter.
  3. The video appears in the input box area.
  4. Press Ctrl + Alt + M to lock or unlock video display.

Notes

  • The video appears only within the input box area. When the mouse is on the input box, it behaves like a normal input box.
  • Websites that prohibit embedding, such as Douyin, are not supported for now.
  • Playback records are not saved, and refreshing leaves no trace.
