The core design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is that “everything is a plugin.” With deeper usage, managing MCP services, skill packages, and installed plugins often requires directly editing configuration files. The dsh-plugin-manager plugin provides a graphical interface in the DSH settings panel, allowing you to manage these components through click operations instead of manually editing configuration files.
Features¶
The plugin provides the following core capabilities:
- Enable/disable MCP: Enable or disable MCP services in real time by adding or removing
disabledentries in the configuration. - Delete MCP: Remove specified MCP service entries from the configuration.
- Skills management: Browse all skills; supports deletion (move to trash) and restoration.
- Installed plugin control: Stop or enable installed plugins; also supports deletion with trash functionality.
- Built-in plugin package browsing: View built-in plugin package information included in DSH itself in read-only mode.
- Automatic backup: Automatically back up configuration files before performing write operations to prevent accidental loss of configuration.
- Embedded backend: The backend logic is embedded directly in the
dsh webprocess, without requiring additional processes or ports to be started.
Installation¶
Install the plugin using the following command:
dsh plugin --profile web add ~/.dsh/plugins/dsh-plugin-manager
After installation, the plugin starts with the DSH service.
Usage¶
Access the interface¶
Open the DSH settings panel and select the “Plugin Management” option to enter the graphical interface.
API usage¶
In addition to interface operations, the plugin also provides RESTful API endpoints for scripts or automation tools:
- Get state:
GET /plugin-manager/api/state - Perform action:
POST /plugin-manager/api/action
Notes¶
- Hot reloading (HMR): Most configuration changes (such as enabling/disabling MCP and enabling/disabling plugins) support hot module replacement and take effect without restarting
dsh web. - Complete uninstall: Deleting the plugin itself requires restarting
dsh webto complete a full uninstall. - Manager itself: If you stop or delete the plugin manager itself, the interface will disappear; restoration requires manually editing the configuration file.
- Session refresh: After configuration changes, currently open sessions still retain the old tool list. It is recommended to open a new session to refresh the tool list.
