Preface

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture, aiming to standardize complex development workflows. In practice, workflows that include code audit, automatic fix, validation, QA, final review, and report generation are often prone to interruption, and can be difficult to reproduce or recover. The dev-harness-dsh plugin orchestrates these stages and transforms them into recoverable Runs, addressing workflow interruption and state management issues.

What Is This

dev-harness-dsh is a DSH plugin maintained by Dev-Wiki. It integrates Audit, Auto Fix, validation, QA, final review, and unified reporting into a recoverable workflow. Currently, the plugin has completed the MVP baseline development for V0, K1, K2, K3, K4, S1, S2, S3, and S4.

Core Features

  • Recoverable Run Orchestration: Orchestrates each stage of the development workflow (audit, fix, validation, etc.) into a recoverable Run.
  • MVP Basline Complete: Core baseline features from V0 through S4 have been implemented.
  • Language Support: Supports JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Build System: Based on npm or pnpm.

Installation and Activation

Before installing, ensure that the required version of DSH and its dependencies are installed locally.

  1. Install dependencies
   pnpm install --frozen-lockfile --ignore-scripts
  1. Build the plugin
   npm run harness:build
  1. Install the plugin
For detailed installation instructions, refer to the Installation Guide.
Note: Review the source code and license before installation.

Typical Usage

Run Workflow

In a DSH Session, you can use the following commands to start or manage a Run:

  • Create a new recoverable Run
  /harness-run fix-only

This command returns the authoritative view of the current Run (JSON), including runId, revision, phase (e.g., AUDIT), and status.

  • Check status
  /harness-status [run-id]
  • Resume a Run
  /harness-resume <run-id>

This command resumes the Run after verifying that the workspace is consistent with the snapshot. Any changes to the workspace will cause the resume to fail.

  • Cancel a Run
  /harness-cancel [run-id]

Local Release Package Build

If you need to build a local release package:

python3 release.py

The script first runs npm run harness:full (including 68 automated test cases). After success, it uses npm pack with lifecycle scripts disabled to build and validate the package in a temporary directory, and finally places the package in dist/. This script only builds a local .tgz file and does not upload it to a registry.

Full Validation

npm run harness:full

This command includes type checking, Lint, 68 automated tests, build, and packaging dry-run validation.

Use Cases and Caveats

  • Version Pinning: dev-harness-dsh version 0.1.0 is exactly pinned to DeepSeek Harness 0.1.0-rc.8, and cross-rc compatibility is not declared.
  • Runtime Permissions: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. Ensure that the source code has been reviewed before installation.
  • Environment Requirements: Node.js version must satisfy ^22.19.0 || >=24.0.0.
  • License: The plugin does not declare a license in the available documentation. Please ensure compliance before use.

Summary

dev-harness-dsh provides DSH users with structured development workflow orchestration capabilities. By managing code audit and fix workflows through recoverable Runs, it is suitable for teams that require automated and standardized development pipelines.
