Introduction

The DeepSeek Harness (DSH) plugin system allows developers to enhance the client experience with extended features. When writing code in a session, frequently switching windows to check the project structure can interrupt the development flow. The dsh-workspace-dir plugin solves this pain point by adding a “Directory” button to the session header, displaying a file list of the current working directory directly within the DSH interface. This plugin is maintained by DDSG-X.

Core Features

The plugin provides the following features:
* Session header button: Displays a “Directory” button next to the session title.
* Floating panel: Clicking the button opens a draggable directory panel.
* Opacity adjustment: Supports 0%-100% background opacity adjustment, with a default of 20%.
* State memory: The panel’s position, opacity, and open/closed state are saved automatically and restored after restarting Harness.
* Directory browsing: Displays the current session’s working directory and its files and subdirectories.
* Hierarchical navigation: Supports clicking to enter subdirectories.
* Open in system: Supports clicking the button next to a folder to open the current or specified subdirectory in the system file manager.
* Session following: When switching sessions, the directory panel automatically follows the new session’s working directory.

Installation and Enablement

Installation requires a Harness running from source. Due to potentially incomplete peer dependencies, the npm installed version may not work correctly.

pnpm dsh plugin --profile web add github:DDSG-X/dsh-workspace-dir

Harness must be restarted after installation for the plugin to take effect.

Typical Usage

  1. Open any session and click the “Directory” button next to the title to open the directory panel.
  2. Drag the panel title bar to move its position.
  3. Use the slider to adjust the panel background opacity.
  4. Click a subdirectory in the directory list or the “↗” button next to a folder to open the corresponding path in the system file manager.

Notes

  • This project is not published to npm; do not install it by package name.
  • A Harness running from source is required. The npm installed version may fail to install due to missing peer dependencies.
  • Harness must be restarted after installation for the plugin to take effect.
  • The plugin includes built artifacts (lib/); no rebuilding is required.
