DeepSeek Harness (DSH) adopts a plugin-based architecture. In the default workflow, session management mainly involves archiving or hiding, while actual deletion is typically hidden behind the “Session Management” panel on the Settings page. This path is relatively long and is not suitable for high-frequency use. The plugin-session-delete plugin integrates the deletion feature directly into the sidebar, bringing the delete action forward into the session list view and reducing the number of steps required.

Feature Positioning

This is a web-side plugin that primarily provides native sidebar bulk deletion of sessions. Through a self-healing slot patch mechanism, it automatically injects the deletion feature when the page loads, without requiring manual configuration of complex patch scripts.

Core Features

  • Sidebar bulk deletion: Adds a delete button to the title bar. After entering selection mode, checkboxes appear on session rows.
  • Selection mode interaction: Supports “select all” and automatically excludes running and current sessions. After selecting sessions, click “Delete selected (n)” in the lower-left corner to perform bulk deletion.
  • Single deletion: Provides a “Delete session” option in the “…” menu of a session row.
  • Permanent deletion: Deletion includes a confirmation dialog. After confirmation, logs, projection cache, workspace accounting, and archived status will be cleaned up.
  • Security restrictions: The server refuses to delete running sessions (returns 409). The API only trusts local loopback requests and will automatically reject requests when started with --host 0.0.0.0.

Installation and Enablement

Add the plugin using the official installation command, then restart DSH and refresh the page to apply the changes. The plugin has a self-healing mechanism, and the patch will be automatically detected and fixed on the first page load.

Typical Usage

  1. Click the delete button in the title bar to enter selection mode. A checkbox will appear on the left side of each session row.
  2. Select the sessions to be deleted (“select all” is supported; the system will automatically exclude running and current sessions).
  3. Click the “Delete selected (n)” button in the lower-left corner and confirm in the dialog.
  4. Select “Delete session” from the “…” menu of a session row to delete a single session.

Notes

  • Self-healing mechanism: The plugin uses slot patches. If a DSH upgrade overwrites the patch, the plugin will automatically detect and reapply the patch when the page loads. Users are usually unaware of this process.
  • Settings panel: The Settings → Delete Session panel remains available and can be used to delete archived sessions.
  • Permissions and security: The API only trusts local loopback requests. If the service is started with --host 0.0.0.0, the API will automatically return 403.
  • Irreversibility: Deletion is permanent and involves cleaning up data such as logs and projection cache.
  • Version and license: The plugin has been tested and verified with DSH 0.1.0-rc.6. It is licensed under the MIT license.
