Preface

The core architecture of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is built around plugin extensions. When handling multimodal or complex tasks, users typically need to manually select an Agent Preset (such as Standard Mode, PTC Mode, Minimal Mode, or Creative Mode) when creating a new session. Manual switching is not only tedious but also reduces efficiency in fast iteration scenarios. The dsh-agent-preset-router plugin provides an “automatic mode” solution for this: it uses a Flash model to pre-judge requests, automatically routes them to the most appropriate Preset, and achieves “decide, then execute”.

Core Features

The plugin adds a preset named “Auto Mode” to the DSH Web Profile. Its main capabilities include:

  • Selectable Auto preset: It appears in the new-session preset selector and includes a compact toolset as a fallback.
  • Flash pre-judgment: Uses the deepseek-v4-flash model to classify the request and outputs the recommended preset, reasoning, and confidence.
  • Decide and run: After the user sends the first message, the system automatically switches to the recommended preset and executes immediately, without requiring a second confirmation.
  • Animated information bar: Displays the decision process above the input box and automatically fades out after 3 seconds.
  • Honest fallback: If classification fails, the plugin automatically falls back to the configured default preset (standard by default) and informs the user.
  • Zero-configuration startup: The classifier reuses the session’s own provider or falls back to the first provider in the registry, so it works out of the box.

Installation and Activation

Installing this plugin requires that DSH has the Web Profile installed. Run the following command to complete the installation:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-agent-preset-router

After installation, restart the Web App or reload the GUI page to load the new plugin package row and preset.

Typical Usage

  1. Create a new session.
  2. In the Agent Preset selector, select Auto Mode.
  3. Enter the request content and send it.
  4. The system triggers Flash classification, automatically switches to the recommended Preset, and executes the request.
  5. A dynamic information bar appears above the input box, displaying the routing decision and automatically disappearing after 3 seconds.
  6. Slash commands (such as /help) bypass the routing logic and are executed directly.

Notes and Limitations

  • Platform preset lock: Routing only takes effect for the first message of each new session. The DSH platform locks the Preset when the session generates the first message (turn/start), so the Preset cannot be dynamically switched while the session is in progress.
  • Cannot cancel midway: If the classification result is unsatisfactory, it cannot be canceled or retried in the current session. The only remedy is to start a new session or create a session directly under the target Preset.
  • Security model: The classifier sends your request text to the configured LLM Provider, which is consistent with DSH’s own trust model.
  • RPC limitation: RPC scheduling is fixed, and the classifier runs through an HTTP route with same-origin checks.
  • Auto preset positioning: The auto preset itself is a compact fallback toolset. If you want richer behavior when using Auto mode, you can extend the configuration files under the $DSH_HOME/.agent-presets/auto directory.

Short Conclusion

dsh-agent-preset-router introduces a Flash model classification layer to address the repetitive work involved in switching among multiple Presets in DSH. It is suitable for developers who want to reduce manual configuration overhead and rely on automated routing decisions. The plugin is open source (MIT license), has flexible configuration, and is well suited as a Workflow tool in the DSH ecosystem.
