DeepSeek Harness (DSH) Web sessions often contain debug logs, reasoning traces, or sensitive credentials. The officially exported Session ZIP file is complete, but it can be large and contains substantial metadata. For code review, issue reproduction, or knowledge transfer, developers usually need a lighter, redacted result document.
dsh-local-share is a community-maintained plugin that adds a Share action to the DSH Web session header. It allows users to generate Markdown, self-contained HTML, or a long image locally, without any cloud upload or backend request, with a focus on privacy protection.
Plugin Positioning¶
- Name: dsh-local-share
- Maintainer: ChuanTianML
- Category: Client-side
- License: MIT
- Status: Developer preview
Core Capabilities¶
This plugin provides the following local sharing features:
- Multi-format output: Supports exporting selected conversation turns or the entire Session to Markdown, a self-contained HTML file, or a long PNG image.
- Privacy-first: By default, it excludes tool results, reasoning traces, system prompts, and other metadata; all generation is completed in the local browser with no network requests.
- Safe rendering: Assistant text is rendered using safe GitHub Flavored Markdown (GFM), while human input is preserved as plaintext to help prevent XSS risks.
- Sandboxed preview: Generated documents are previewed inside a sandboxed
srcdociframe, with strict Content Security Policy settings that block scripts and external resources.
Installation and Upgrade¶
Before installation, make sure DSH Home is installed and the Web Profile is configured. Version 0.4.1 is the current stable version.
Install a New Plugin¶
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-local-share@0.4.1
Upgrade from Older dsh-share¶
Version 0.2.0 and later use an independent package name to avoid conflicts. First remove the old dsh-share plugin, then install the new version:
dsh plugin --profile web remove dsh-share
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-local-share@0.4.1
Usage¶
- Open a DSH Web session and find the Share button in the header of a non-empty session.
- Select the conversation turns to share (single or multiple selections are supported; you can also share the entire Session).
- In the dialog, the default export format is Markdown, and privacy redaction is enabled by default.
- After confirming the preview, you can copy the text or download the file.
Configuration and Limits¶
For high-frequency or long conversation scenarios, it is recommended to configure explicit limits in the config file to prevent browser lag.
Configuration File Path¶
The configuration file is located at $DSH_HOME/profiles/web/cordis.patch.yml (i.e., ~/.dsh/profiles/web/cordis.patch.yml).
Configuration Example¶
Add or modify the dsh-local-share configuration entry in cordis.patch.yml:
- id: dsh-local-share
config:
maxEvents: 20000
maxOutputChars: 2000000
maxToolArgumentChars: 12000
| Field | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
maxEvents |
20000 |
Maximum number of raw session events accepted |
maxOutputChars |
2000000 |
Maximum character count for output file or preview |
maxToolArgumentChars |
12000 |
Maximum argument character count retained for a single enabled tool call |
After configuring, you can verify the active settings with dsh --profile web --dump-config.
Privacy Behavior¶
By default, the generated document contains only direct human prompts and visible assistant text. The plugin provides detailed privacy controls:
- Included by default: Human prompts, visible assistant text.
- Excluded by default: Tool result bodies, model reasoning, system prompts, request configuration, plugin-injected context, attachment bytes, and session metadata.
- Optionally includable: Tool names, bounded arguments, and execution results (requires enabling “Include tool calls” in the preview).
Redaction Rules¶
Redaction is heuristic, intended to cover common cases, but it is not absolutely safe:
* Covered items: common credentials, Authorization headers, environment variables containing keys, email addresses, and absolute local paths.
* Safety mechanism: If redaction is disabled, copy and download functionality are locked until the user reconfirms the risk.
Notes¶
- Developer preview: The current version is still in developer preview.
- Plugin cleanup: Before installation, it is recommended to check whether an old plugin named
dsh-sharealready exists in the current directory to avoid feature conflicts. - Local execution: The plugin runs in the local browser environment, and generated long images also do not pass through a server, ensuring data safety.
