Introduction

The core capability of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) lies in its plugin-based architecture. dsh-trafficlight is a host plugin that combines a browser Web GUI extension with a macOS native app, transforming DSH’s session stream events into intuitive red/yellow/green traffic light states, helping developers track task progress in real time during multi-session development.

Features

  1. macOS Global Floating Window: Displays the real-time status of subscribed sessions in the top-right corner of the screen. The floating window supports drag-to-move, adaptive layout, and shows an empty state when disconnected or when no subscriptions exist.
  2. Web GUI Subscribe Button: Provides a “🚦 Subscribe” button in the browser session header, allowing users to follow specific sessions instead of displaying all sessions.
  3. Status Color Mapping:
    • 🔴 Red: The session is in a blocked state (e.g., waiting for approval or asking a question).
    • 🟡 Yellow: The session is in progress (turn underway).
    • 🟢 Green: The session is completed.
    • ⚪ Dim: Idle or not connected to DSH.
  4. Subscription Persistence and Interaction: The subscription list is saved in a local file and persists after the service is restarted. Each row in the floating window provides an “⊖” button to remove that specific subscription.

Installation and Enablement

This plugin only supports the web profile for dsh.

  1. Install:
dsh plugin --profile web add @chivaskong96/dsh-trafficlight
  1. Restart the service:
    dsh web
  1. Prerequisites:
    • Node.js version >= 22.19.0
    • dsh version 0.1.x (web profile)

Usage

  1. Open any session.
  2. Click the “🚦 Subscribe” button in the action row of the session header.
  3. On first subscription, the system automatically launches the macOS floating window.
  4. The floating window displays the red/yellow/green status for each subscribed session row by row. Click the “⊖” at the end of a row to remove that subscription.

Notes

  • Version Limitation: Currently only supports the web profile for dsh 0.1.x.
  • Port Dependency: The plugin’s internal bridge service runs on port 18765. Ensure this port is not already in use.
  • Build Dependency: If building the macOS floating window from source, the sandbox must be disabled during the Swift build (--disable-sandbox).

Summary

dsh-trafficlight provides DSH users with a lightweight session status monitoring solution through a subscription-based approach and a native floating window. It helps avoid losing track of progress across many sessions, making it suitable for scenarios where managing multiple agent tasks simultaneously is required.
