Introduction

When running restricted commands in DeepSeek-Harness, the sandbox process pops up a black console window by default. This can be visually distracting and may affect the operational experience in certain environments. dsh-silent-pwsh is a client plugin that solves this issue by hiding the window, ensuring tasks are executed silently in the background.

Core Features

  • Hide sandbox console window: Sets the SW_HIDE flag to prevent the black console window from popping up.
  • Fix flicker when the task tree terminates: Resolves visual flicker when the task tree is terminated.
  • Fix flicker during sandbox capability probing: Resolves window flicker during sandbox capability probing.
  • Self-healing patch plugin: Automatically checks and applies patches at startup to ensure the file state is correct, without manual maintenance.

Installation and Enablement

Before use, ensure the system has the DeepSeek-Harness desktop app, node, and pnpm installed, and that they are available in the PATH environment variable.

Installation Command

The official installation command is recommended:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:chengyimingvb/dsh-silent-pwsh

Or use the full URL directly:

dsh plugin --profile web add https://github.com/chengyimingvb/dsh-silent-pwsh

Local Installation

If installing from a local folder or ZIP package, extract the contents, then enter the directory and run:

.\install.ps1

If you encounter PowerShell execution policy restrictions, you can bypass them with:

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File .\install.ps1

After installation, restart the DeepSeek Harness app.

Usage Instructions

After restarting, the DeepSeek Harness logs will show [silent-pwsh] up to date (indicating no update is needed) or [silent-pwsh] patched … (indicating a patch was applied), confirming that the plugin is active and working properly.

Notes

  • Environment dependencies: Requires the DeepSeek-Harness desktop app, node, and pnpm.
  • License: The plugin is open-sourced under the MIT License.
  • Custom installation directory: If the installation path cannot be detected automatically, set the DSH_INSTALL_ROOT environment variable to specify the directory that contains node_modules.
  • Dependency conflicts: If pnpm reports a supply-chain policy error (for example, minimumReleaseAge), add the offending package name to the minimumReleaseAgeExclude list in pnpm-workspace.yaml.

Summary

dsh-silent-pwsh uses a self-healing patch mechanism to fix window display issues in sandbox processes and reduce visual distraction. For scenarios that require silently running commands in the background, this plugin is a practical tool. For more details, see the plugin directory or the GitHub repository.
