Overview¶
In DeepSeek Harness (DSH), integrating MCP (Model Context Protocol) services usually requires manually maintaining configuration files. The dsh-plug-mcp plugin provides a Web UI that addresses the need to discover MCP service repositories on GitHub, view details, and install or remove them with one click from the “Settings → Plugins → MCP” tab in the Web UI.
Plugin Introduction¶
dsh-plug-mcp is a DeepSeek Harness plugin developed by Casually, positioned as an MCP service manager. It interacts with the GitHub registry through the Web UI, allowing users to search repositories by Topic, automatically detect publication status and startup hints, and write service configurations to the DSH home layer.
Core Features¶
-
Repository Discovery and Search
Supports searching repositories by GitHub topic (such asmcp-serverormodelcontextprotocol). Users can add keywords, sort by most stars or recently updated, and paginate. -
Details View
Click a repository to open a details dialog, including star count, Topics, license, README, and content detection results. Detection checkspackage.json(npm status),pyproject.toml(PyPI status), and startup hints in the README such asnpx, uvx, anddocker run, then auto-fills the installation form. -
One-Click Installation and Removal
After confirming the information, click Install. The plugin appends an@deepseek-ai/dsh-mcp-clientconfiguration line to$DSH_HOME/cordis.patch.yml(home layer, applies to all profiles).
After installation, DSH watches the file for HMR (hot reload) changes, so it usually takes effect without a restart. The removal feature supports deleting the configuration with one click from the installed list. -
Proxy Configuration
The discovery feature connects directly to GitHub by default. When network access is restricted, configure a proxy in the “GitHub Proxy” field in the Web UI. Configuration sources take effect by priority: persistent UI settings, config.proxyin the profile’scordis.patch.yml, and the environment variableDSH_PLUG_MCP_PROXY. Protocols such ashttp, https, andsocks5are supported. -
Local API
The plugin provides a local JSON API (loopback-only), including/plug-mcp/search,/plug-mcp/repo,/plug-mcp/local,/plug-mcp/install,/plug-mcp/remove,/plug-mcp/proxy, and/plug-mcp/proxy-test.
Installation and Enabling¶
Install using the official DSH plugin command. After installation, restart DSH to compose the new bundle. The “MCP” tab will then appear under Settings → Plugins.
# 推荐使用 npm 安装
dsh plugin --profile web add -w dsh-plug-mcp
Usage Instructions¶
- In the Web UI, go to “Settings → Plugins → MCP”.
- Enter a keyword on the Discovery page to search.
- If GitHub access is restricted, click the “GitHub Proxy” field to configure a proxy and test the connection.
- Click a repository to view details, confirm the startup command, and then click “Install”.
- On the “Installed” page, you can view all currently registered MCP services and remove them.
Notes¶
- Dependency Requirements: The host environment must have
curl(for proxy requests) andpnpm(for thedsh plugincommand) installed. - Code Runtime Environment: MCP services are registered as standard
@deepseek-ai/dsh-mcp-clientlines. Each MCP service command is trusted executable code outside the sandbox, equivalent to runningnpx -y …in a shell. Only install services from trusted sources. - Configuration File: All install and remove operations directly modify
$DSH_HOME/cordis.patch.yml. The plugin backs up the file before modification (keeping the 10 most recent backups) and validates the readability of the written YAML to avoid writing corrupted configuration. - Tech Stack: The plugin depends only on
js-yaml.
Summary¶
dsh-plug-mcp provides DeepSeek Harness users with visual MCP service management capabilities. Through GitHub detection and local configuration management, it simplifies the service integration process, supports hot reload and proxy configuration, and is suitable for scenarios where MCP services need to be quickly integrated and debugged in DSH.
