Overview¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) supports extending functionality through plugins. During agent development or debugging, developers frequently need to check API account balances. Manually switching to the console or web interface to query this information interrupts the workflow. The dsh-emoji-wallet plugin aims to solve this problem by embedding the balance query entry point directly in the session header, enabling one-click viewing.
Plugin Introduction¶
dsh-emoji-wallet is a minimalist DeepSeek balance query tool developed by user ankesu and open-sourced under the MIT License.
Its core value is: providing a convenient balance viewing entry point on the browser side while ensuring the API key never leaves the host system.
Core Features¶
- One-Click Balance Viewing: Displays a balance button in the session header (to the right of Session log). Clicking it retrieves the current balance.
- Key Security Isolation: The browser only receives the balance value. The API key is read by the DSH process on the host (path:
~/.dsh/.credentials.yaml) and is not transmitted through the webpage. - Bubble Popup: Clicking displays a semi-transparent bubble. It automatically closes after clicking again or waiting 8 seconds.
- Zero Configuration: Automatically reads the environment variable
DEEPSEEK_API_KEYwithout additional configuration items.
Installation and Enablement¶
Install the plugin via the DSH command line:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-emoji-wallet
After installation, restart DeepSeek Harness.
Typical Usage¶
- Start the Plugin: After restarting Harness, a balance button appears in the session header (to the right of Session log).
- View Balance: Click the button. The system displays the current DeepSeek API balance in a semi-transparent bubble.
- Close the Popup: Click the button again or wait 8 seconds. The bubble disappears automatically.
Use Cases and Notes¶
This plugin is suitable for developers who need to frequently monitor API consumption during development.
Before installation, it is recommended to review the source code and license to ensure compliance with personal usage requirements. When the plugin runs, it depends on the DSH process’s read access to host files.
Summary¶
dsh-emoji-wallet provides a low-disruption, high-security balance query solution. By moving the query logic to the host side, it maintains operational convenience while avoiding the risk of key leakage.
