Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶

• Platform limitation: Audio playback is only supported on Windows. Non-Windows platforms remain silent.
• Technical limitation: Synchronous MCI calls must be used; mci.async is prohibited. Spawning PowerShell or cmd child processes to play sounds is strictly forbidden.
• Development note: As a bare-package module, dsh must be restarted after code changes. If installed via a file: path, source changes require remove followed by add, because the installation is a hard-linked copy.
