Introduction

When using DeepSeek Harness (DSH) for agent development, a workspace is the main container for storing code and resources. The Workspace list on the left usually only provides switching and viewing. If you need to open the folder corresponding to the current workspace in the local file system, you often have to locate it manually or use external commands. This adds extra steps and interrupts the development flow.

The dsh-workspace-open plugin solves this problem by adding a direct action entry in the workspace list.

Features

The plugin adds a folder button to each real workspace row (the Workspace list on the left).

After clicking the button, DSH calls the built-in ctx.workspaces.openPath(path) method, and the Host process opens the corresponding workspace folder in the system default file manager. The following systems are currently supported:
* Windows: File Explorer
* macOS: Finder
* Linux: xdg-open default file manager

Installation and Enablement

Run the following command in the web profile directory of DSH to install it:

dsh plugin --profile web add ./dsh-workspace-open

After installation is complete, you need to restart the DSH Web service (Host-side plugin loading), and then refresh the browser page for it to take effect.

How It Works

The plugin uses a dual-half-zone architecture:
* Host half-zone: lib/index.js is an empty apply function, used only to allow DSH to discover and load this package.
* Browser half-zone: lib/client.js is registered with the DSH client.

In terms of implementation, the plugin first tries to use the sidebar.workspaces.row-menu slot that may be provided in a future version. Since the current DSH version (0.1.0-rc.x) does not provide this slot yet, the plugin automatically falls back to DOM adapter mode and inserts the folder button into the hover action area of the workspace row.

Notes

  • Display scope: The plugin adds the button only to “real Workspace” rows; “Ungrouped” rows will not display it.
  • Future compatibility: If DSH officially provides a stable workspace row menu slot in the future, this plugin will automatically switch to the native registration approach.

With this plugin, you can quickly access the local file system without leaving the DSH interface, reducing window switching.
