Introduction¶
Direct interaction with DSH in a terminal requires a specific integration approach. dsh-tui provides a standalone interactive terminal package, integrates with terminals through OSC sequences, and supports local or remote Web Hosts without modifying the DSH core source code.
What Is This¶
zhangweiii/dsh-tui is the standalone interactive terminal package for DeepSeek Harness, maintained by zhangweiii.
As a self-contained npm package, it does not modify the DSH core source code workspace. At startup, the renderer attempts to connect to a Web Host at http://127.0.0.1:3080; if that address is unavailable, it falls back to using its own InProcessApiClient. The package layers terminal Host services and proxy preset lists into dsh-base via cordis.patch.yml.
Core Features¶
- Standalone terminal interaction: Provides a standalone interactive terminal interface without including copies of DSH core modules.
- Terminal integration: Integrates with the terminal via OSC sequences and supports window title updates and status notifications.
- Web Host support: Supports local and remote Web Hosts and can also run standalone without a Web Host.
- Session management: Supports persistent session management, allowing sessions to be resumed or continued by ID.
- File reference indexing: Supports file reference indexing for
@filementions, making it easy to reference local files in conversations. - Fuzzy search selectors: Built-in model, session, and settings selectors with fuzzy search allow quick locating without scrolling.
- Markdown rendering: Supports Markdown syntax highlighting and code folding.
Installation and Activation¶
Installing this plugin requires dsh 0.1.1-rc.2 or a compatible host already installed.
1、Install the plugin:
dsh plugin --profile tui add @zhangweiii/dsh-tui
The install command pulls the package directly from the npm registry (a local checkout can also use add .). After installation, the dsh command initializes using the tui profile, which by default records the dsh.bundle declared by this package.
Typical Usage¶
After installation, start terminal interaction using --profile tui:
1、Initialize interaction:
dsh --profile tui
2、Run the initial command:
dsh --profile tui "explain this repository"
3、Continue the most recent session:
dsh --profile tui --continue
4、Resume a specific session:
dsh --profile tui --resume <session-id>
5、Specify the working directory:
dsh --profile tui --cwd <path>
6、Connect to a remote Web Host:
dsh --profile tui --connect http://127.0.0.1:8080
7、Standalone mode (without a Web Host):
dsh --profile tui --standalone
Use Cases and Notes¶
- Runtime environment: The app requires an interactive TTY.
- Dependency requirements:
- Requires Node.js version
^22.19.0 || >=24.0.0. - Requires dsh 0.1.1-rc.2 or a compatible host.
- Requires Node.js version
- Network restrictions: Plain HTTP is limited to
localhost,*.localhost,127.0.0.0/8, and[::1]. Other hosts must use HTTPS. - Terminal compatibility: OSC terminal notifications do not have a universal cross-terminal standard; terminals that do not support the standard will ignore the relevant sequences.
- Mutually exclusive arguments:
--resumeand--continueare mutually exclusive.--connectand--standaloneare mutually exclusive.
Conclusion¶
dsh-tui provides native terminal interaction capabilities for DeepSeek Harness, with support for session persistence and file reference indexing. For users who need to develop agents in command-line environments, this is a direct, standalone solution.
