Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) adopts a plugin-based architecture. In addition to the Web-based UI, developers need a native terminal interface. dsh-tui-app provides a Readline-based interactive terminal package, retaining DSH core services (models, Agent presets, sessions, etc.) while providing the terminal chat surface.
What is this¶
This is a standalone lightweight implementation for running DeepSeek Harness in the terminal. It retains models, Agent presets, sessions, permissions, commands, and tool services, and provides a terminal chat interface.
Core Features¶
- Streaming output: Supports streaming output for assistant text, reasoning processes, tool call results, and Codex-style placeholders.
- Multimedia input: Natively supports rc.1 image input (via the
--image/-istartup option or the/imagecommand) and MP4 video input (via the--video/-vstartup option or the/videocommand). On macOS, Control+V can paste clipboard images. - TTY components: Provides a bordered terminal composer, supporting command completion, history, reflow on window resize, and a fallback mechanism in pipeline environments.
- Session management: Manages sessions through DSH’s persistent session storage (create, resume, list, delete).
- Presets and selectors: Supports blank-session Agent preset selection, model and reasoning strategy selectors, and cycling through permission presets using Shift+Tab.
- Commands and Skill: Integrates DSH slash command registry and user-invokable Skill.
- Audit integration: Optional audit integration feature that provides remediation actions.
Installation and Enablement¶
This plugin requires DeepSeek Harness 0.1.3-alpha.2 or a compatible version.
dsh plugin --profile tui add github:yhfgyyf/dsh-tui-app
dsh --profile tui
Typical Usage¶
dsh --profile tui --help
dsh --profile tui --preset minimal
dsh --profile tui -i diagram.png
dsh --profile tui --resume <session-id>
Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
- Version requirement: DSH 0.1.3-alpha.2 or higher must be installed.
- Security boundary: The
!command is an explicit manual Shell escape that directly launches the user Shell in the current workspace, bypassing the Agent tool sandbox or approval policy. Only run trusted commands. - Permission scope: This plugin runs with the permissions of the DSH process.
