Introduction¶
In the development and use of DeepSeek Harness (DSH), referencing specific content from the conversation history to compose a reply is a common requirement. Traditional copy-and-paste methods are cumbersome and can easily interrupt the conversation flow. The dsh-plugin-quote-reply plugin listens to the user’s text selection actions in the session and provides a quick solution for quoting context.
Plugin Overview¶
This is a pure client-side (browser) plugin maintained by user yangYzc. It allows developers to select any message content in the DSH Web interface and convert it into a Markdown quote block to insert into the current input box, or prefill the quoted content in a newly created session window.
Core Features¶
- Quote in Current Input Box: Converts the selected text into a Markdown quote block (
> ...) and inserts it directly into the current input box, allowing you to continue typing a reply. - Reply in New Window: Automatically creates and opens a new session window, prefills the selected quoted content into the input box.
- Support for All Sources: There is no restriction on the source of the selection; it can be an assistant reply, a user’s original message, or tool output content.
Installation and Activation¶
Install the plugin via the command line. It is recommended to use the web profile:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-plugin-quote-reply
After installation, restart the dsh web process (or run the restart script in the repository), then refresh the browser to apply the changes.
Typical Usage¶
- In the session interface, select a piece of text with the mouse (for example, a key sentence in an assistant’s answer).
- After selecting the text, a toolbar floats below the selection.
- Click the “Quote Reply” button on the toolbar to quote the content into the current input box; or click the “New Window Reply” button, and the system will automatically create a new session and prefill the quoted content.
- Continue typing in the input box and send the message.
Notes¶
- This plugin is a pure browser plugin and runs in the client environment.
- If installing from a Git source (i.e., using the
github:...method), and the local environment uses pnpm >= 10, the first installation may fail because security policies refuse to run build scripts. - To resolve this, write the package name given in the error (i.e.,
dsh-plugin-quote-reply) into thepnpm-workspace.yamlfile under the profile directory and add theallowBuildsconfiguration:
allowBuilds:
dsh-plugin-quote-reply: true
Then run the installation command again.
Conclusion¶
dsh-plugin-quote-reply solves the problem of quickly quoting context in the DSH Web interface. For scenarios that require frequently quoting specific information to reply or continue a conversation, this tool can improve operational efficiency.
