When debugging agent applications locally, errors are often scattered across terminal output or log files, making them difficult to manage centrally. dsh-loghud organizes runtime, compilation, module resolution, build, testing, and application startup errors into bounded, deduplicated error cards, displayed centrally in a floating panel to make quick localization and troubleshooting easier.
What It Is¶
dsh-loghud is an extensible local development error monitoring web plugin for DeepSeek Harness. It is currently maintained by XuXcode and released under the MIT License. v0.4.0 supports mainstream technology stacks such as Go, Python, Node.js, TypeScript, Java, and Spring.
Core Features¶
Error Organization and Deduplication
The plugin organizes runtime, compilation, module resolution, build, testing, and application startup errors into bounded, deduplicated error cards. It merges duplicate errors using stable fingerprints and records occurrence counts and the most recent occurrence time.
Multi-LANGUAGE and Framework Support
* Go: Recognizes panic/fatal errors, goroutine stacks, compilation errors, go test failures, go vet issues, module downloads, and port occupancy.
* Node.js / TypeScript: Recognizes runtime errors, TSxxxx errors, missing modules, network connection issues, npm/pnpm/yarn lifecycle issues, and build errors in Vite, Rollup, Webpack, and Next.js.
* Python: Recognizes Tracebacks for Python 3.10–3.14, exception chains, import failures, SyntaxError, asyncio background exceptions, and pytest test failures.
* Java / Spring: Recognizes Spring IOC, MyBatis, MySQL/database, Redis, Spring MVC, Java runtime, and application startup errors.
UI and Interaction
* Provides three tabs for Active, Resolved, and Ignored errors; details open separately within the panel, and returning preserves filters and scroll position.
* Supports searching, language/category filtering, JSON/Markdown export, and a draggable, resizable floating panel.
* Supports Chinese and English interfaces, Harness light/dark theme variables, keyboard navigation, and layout persistence.
AI Diagnostics
Supports on-demand AI diagnostics and redacts common secrets and credentials before sending them. AI explanation is fully triggered manually by the user; the plugin does not automatically call a model when an error is detected.
Installation and Enablement¶
- Add the plugin using the official installation command:
dsh plugin --profile web add https://github.com/XuXcode/dsh-loghud/releases/download/v0.4.0/dsh-loghud-0.4.0.tgz
- Verify the configuration after installation:
dsh --profile web --dump-config
Check whether the configuration output contains the enabled `dsh-loghud` patch.
- Modify the configuration in the LogHUD card under Harness Settings > Plugins > Plugin Configuration.
Typical Usage¶
Go Demo
Enter the sample directory and run the specified commands to trigger error detection:
cd examples/go-demo
go run . panic
go run . port
go build -tags loghud_compile_failure .
Incremental Mode
Use incremental mode (streaming-tool) to let the Agent use loghud_run. Commands are run through the official Terminal service, and incremental output is continuously fed to the collector.
Use Cases and Notes¶
Use Cases
Suitable for developers who need real-time monitoring of errors in Go, Python, Node.js, TypeScript, Java, or Spring projects during local development.
Notes
* Trigger Behavior: AI explanation is fully triggered manually by the user; the plugin does not automatically call a model when an error is detected.
* Scope: The current v0.4.0 does not commit to production logging, native program crash monitoring, or arbitrary text log monitoring.
* Shell Integration: The plugin does not replace or modify the native Harness Shell.
* Service Dependencies: If the Terminal service is missing, only loghud_run is disabled; if the LLM route is missing, only AI diagnostics are disabled.
* Automatic Recovery: The automatic recovery scope is strict; previous related startup errors are resolved only when the same command family shows Spring startup success markers again and exits without error.
Summary¶
dsh-loghud helps developers improve local debugging efficiency by displaying error cards centrally and providing manually triggered AI diagnostics. For more information, refer to GitHub.
