Introduction

After an Agent task in DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is completed, developers usually need to review logs and tool call chains. The dsh-showreel plugin can directly read the most recently finished Turn in the current session and convert it into a vertical video recap of about 30 seconds.

The entire process runs in the local browser. Before generating the video, you can edit the copy and duration. It does not involve uploading to the cloud; all data processing is completed on the Host side.

Core Features

  1. Five-Act Storyboard Generation
    Extracts five key stages from the most recently finished Turn: goal, execution, verification, results, and wrap-up.

  2. Data Aggregation
    Automatically counts the tools used in the task, number of files, model name, total duration, and Token consumption.

  3. Local Rendering and Export
    Uses Canvas to render in real time at 30 FPS. During export, it preferentially generates a 1080×1920 MP4 (H.264/AAC). If the environment does not support MP4, it automatically falls back to WebM. It also generates a 1080×1920 first-frame PNG cover.

  4. Editing and Polishing
    Before export, you can modify the title, per-act copy, and duration. You can also disable any act. Optionally invoke the model used for this task to polish the sanitized copy.

  5. Voiceover
    Supports calling the OpenAI-compatible /audio/speech endpoint to generate a voiceover. If not configured, timeout, decoding failed, or request failed, it exports as silent.

Privacy and Security

The plugin maintains read-only access to the Session and workspace throughout. By default, it does not display or process the following items:
* reasoning / thinking contents
* full command output
* full Diff
* API keys, Bearer tokens, private keys, password fields
* absolute paths such as user directories and workspace

All facts are sanitized on the Host side before entering rule-based copy, AI polishing, and voiceover processes. Browser requests cannot carry TTS endpoints or credentials.

Installation and Enablement

  1. Install
    Install the plugin using the Web profile:
    dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-showreel
  1. Enable
    Run DeepSeek Harness:
    dsh web
Open any session with a completed task and click the 🎬 button in the session title bar.
  1. Local Development
    If you need to develop locally, build the plugin first:
    pnpm install && pnpm build
    dsh plugin --profile web add /absolute/path/to/dsh-showreel
In macOS + Chrome, you can use `pnpm demo` to rebuild demo assets.

Configuring Voiceover

To use the voiceover feature, override the plugin configuration in the Web profile’s cordis.patch.yml:

- id: dsh-showreel
  config:
    tts:
      baseUrl: https://api.openai.com/v1
      model: gpt-4o-mini-tts
      voice: alloy
      credentialRef: DSH_SHOWREEL_TTS_API_KEY
      timeoutMs: 60000
      maxAudioBytes: 10485760

Pass the actual key to the DSH credentials provider (for example, the environment variable DSH_SHOWREEL_TTS_API_KEY). The key is only resolved by the Host for each request and is not included in the configuration file or exported files.

Notes

  • Feature scope: The plugin does not include automatic upload, cloud sharing, background music, landscape templates, a template market, or full session replay.
  • Dependency version: Based on the peerDependencies in package.json, the plugin requires DeepSeek Harness ^0.1.0-rc.8.
  • License: The plugin uses the MIT license.

Conclusion

dsh-showreel provides a quick way to visualize the execution process of Agent tasks, suitable for demos, reviews, or sharing task results. All operations are completed locally, making it suitable for scenarios with privacy and security requirements.
