Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture, and developers often need to interact with agents on mobile devices. The dsh-weixin plugin addresses this issue by using mobile WeChat as the entry point for conversing with a DSH agent. Users can send commands through WeChat, the agent processes them, and replies are returned through WeChat without requiring an additional client on the phone.
What is dsh-weixin¶
This is a DeepSeek Harness WeChat channel plugin. It is maintained by user wendayuan and is licensed under MIT. It is responsible for establishing a connection between WeChat and the DSH system, allowing the agent to receive messages from WeChat, perform tasks, and return results to WeChat.
Core Features¶
- Message flow: A mobile WeChat message is sent → the DSH agent processes it → the reply is sent back to WeChat.
- Continuous context: Each WeChat conversation corresponds to a persistent session, supporting multi-turn dialogue.
- Credential reuse: It reuses existing DSH model credentials (
~/.dsh/.credentials.yaml), so no separate configuration is required. - Rule injection: It automatically loads
~/.dsh/AGENTS.mdand the workspaceAGENTS.md, so the agent is subject to the same rule constraints as the web version. - Resident process: The plugin runs as part of the DSH process and does not require a separate daemon.
Installation and Enablement¶
Use the official installation command to add the plugin:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:you/dsh-weixin
After installation, you need to complete a one-time login. The plugin reuses WeChat’s official iLink channel for QR-code login.
Login method (recommended):
Use the bridge CLI to pre-login. The credentials are stored in ~/.openclaw:
npx weixin-acp login
The terminal will print a QR code. Scan it with mobile WeChat and confirm the login. When the terminal displays “✅ Connected to WeChat successfully,” the login is complete. After that, this login state is automatically reused with the DSH process.
Configuration¶
Override the configuration in the profile’s cordis.patch.yml (all options are optional):
- id: weixin
name: dsh-weixin
config:
cwd: /path/to/workspace # agent working directory; defaults to the DSH startup directory
provider: deepseek-official # override the default provider routing
model: deepseek-v4-pro # override the default model
Usage Examples¶
After configuration is complete, send the following messages in WeChat in order to verify the setup:
- Identity verification: Send “Who are you?” and confirm that the agent knows its identity and working directory.
- Context test: Send “Do you remember what I just said?” to verify the persistent session and context continuity.
- Tool test: Send “Run
pwdusing bash” to verify that the agent can execute commands. - Rule test: Send a question whose answer is defined only in
AGENTS.mdto verify that rule injection is working.
Note: The first message may require 10–30 seconds for cold start, which is normal.
Security and Notes¶
- Communication security: Messages are transmitted through WeChat servers and are not end-to-end encrypted. It is recommended not to send passwords or tokens in WeChat.
- Security boundary: The plugin does not have a message whitelist, so the security boundary is equivalent to your WeChat account. It is recommended to enable two-factor authentication or device lock for WeChat.
- Key storage: The API key is not stored in any file within this plugin; it is resolved by the DSH credential service.
- Underlying dependency: The bridge layer uses the community package
weixin-agent-sdk, which operates through WeChat’s official iLink channel, but the client code is not maintained by WeChat. - Restart behavior: Restarting DSH clears WeChat conversation memory (file changes are not affected).
Conclusion¶
dsh-weixin provides the ability to use WeChat directly as the interface for a DSH agent. By reusing DSH’s existing credential and rule systems, it lowers the barrier to using agents on mobile devices. For more details and source code, refer to the project directory page or the GitHub repository.
