During daily use of DeepSeek Harness (DSH), especially when handling a large number of sessions, quickly identifying and distinguishing specific tasks or contexts becomes important. Existing approaches may rely heavily on file names or manual notes and lack a unified tagging system. The dsh-session-tags plugin, provided as an integrated host + client package, adds session tag management capabilities to the DSH Web GUI.

What It Is

This is a plugin designed for the DSH Web Profile (web), maintained by tuogusa and licensed under the MIT License. It separates tag management from session logs and provides an independent storage solution.

Structurally, the plugin consists of two parts:
* lib/index.js: Host side, providing /api/session-tags related interfaces.
* lib/client.js: Browser side, responsible for rendering the tag management interface in the UI.

Core Features

  1. Adding, removing, and displaying tags: In DSH settings, the “Session Tags” section allows you to add or remove tags. Tags are displayed as chips, automatically deduplicated, and each tag is limited to 32 characters.
  2. Tag search: Within the Session Tags section, you can search using the tag:xxx syntax; entering it directly opens the corresponding session.
  3. Independent storage: Tag data is stored in $DSH_HOME/session-tags.json, independent from session logs and the query pipeline, so it is not lost when logs are cleaned up.

Installation and Activation

Install it using the official command:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:tuogusa/dsh-session-tags

After installation, follow the dsh guidance to modify the allowBuilds entry in pnpm-workspace.yaml, restart the DSH process, and press Ctrl+Shift+R in the browser to force a refresh so the new interface becomes visible.

Typical Usage

Open the DSH Web GUI and go to “Settings” -> “Session Tags”. Add a tag to the current session (for example, demo) and save it. Then enter tag:demo in the search box of the Session Tags section to locate and open that session directly.

Use Cases and Notes

This plugin is only compatible with the Web GUI Profile. The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process; please review the source code and license before installing.
