Introduction

The core philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin”. When using Zhipu Coding Plan in the Web client, frequently checking the Token window, MCP tool quota, and model invocation usage usually requires relying on external monitoring dashboards or manually switching pages. dsh-zhipu-coding-plan aims to resolve this fragmentation by embedding key metrics from Zhipu Coding Plan directly into the DSH Web conversation view panel, making quota management more intuitive.

Core Capabilities

This plugin provides the following dimensions of data in DSH Web:

  • Token Window: Displays progress bars for the 5-hour / weekly Token quota and the reset countdown. When usage reaches a certain threshold, the progress bar automatically changes color as a warning.
  • MCP Tool Quota: Shows the used total, total quota, and remaining count for this month’s tool quota, and provides itemized details for online search, web reading, Zread, and other categories.
  • Model Usage: View the number of model calls and the total Tokens used in the last 24 hours / 7 days, along with a ranking by model share.
  • In-Page Key Configuration: Supports saving the Zhipu API Key directly in the panel, with automatic validation before saving.
  • Readable Errors: Provides categorized messages for invalid Key, rate limiting, network disconnection, and other errors. Even if the detail endpoint returns an error, the main panel’s quota display is not affected.

Installation and Enablement

Run the official installation command in the terminal:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-zhipu-coding-plan

After installation is complete, restart DSH Web.

After restarting, a “Quota” tab appears in the interface tabs. It is located next to the Conversation, Trajectory, and Statistics tabs, so you can view quota information without leaving the current conversation.

Usage Instructions

  • Save Key: When you open the quota panel for the first time, you can save the Zhipu API Key directly on the page.
  • Key Resolution Logic: The plugin resolves the Key by priority: startup environment variable ZHIPU_API_KEY → DSH credential storage → .env in the startup directory.
  • Dynamic Updates: The plugin re-resolves the Key for each query, so replacing the Key does not require restarting DSH Web.

Notes

  • Plan Limitation: This plugin only supports the Zhipu Personal Edition plan. If a Key from another platform (such as DeepSeek) is used, the panel explicitly reports it as invalid and does not misreport data.
  • Privacy and Security: The Key is stored only in the local DSH credential storage (~/.dsh/.credentials.yaml) or in environment variables. The panel UI never displays the Key value.
  • Data Source: Quota queries connect directly to the official Zhipu monitoring endpoint (open.bigmodel.cn), without third-party relays.
  • Runtime Environment: Requires Node.js ^22.19.0 or >=24.0.0.
  • Data Accuracy: The Token window endpoint does not return absolute values; the panel faithfully displays the percentage returned by the endpoint.
