Preface

DeepSeek Harness’s plugin ecosystem is increasingly rich, but companion-style plugins mostly focus on state mirroring or single-aspect nurturing. There has been a lack of a plugin that integrates the complete encounter–capture–dex–team loop into workflows. dsh-wildmon was created for this reason. It uses turns, tool calls, and errors in workflows as triggers to startle the bushes, making collecting feel natural.

Core Features

dsh-wildmon is a workflow-based random encounter collection plugin. It has no independent game loop; instead, it binds collection behavior directly to real workflows. Its main features include:

  • Random encounter mechanism: Triggered by turn completion, message receipt, tool call results, error events, and more.
  • Dex and team system: Includes a 28-slot dex and a 6-slot team. The first 6 captured Wildmons join the team automatically. The aura of slot 1 increases the encounter rate in that Wildmon’s habitat by 1.5x.
  • Habitat system: Different work styles correspond to different habitats, such as Common Wilds, Forge Cavern, Inkwood Grove, Fault Ridge, and Night Threshold.
  • Economy and nurturing: Provides a spirit-ball economy system, including shiny variants (1/64 chance).
  • Team management: Supports team management and swapping.

Installation and Enabling

Install the plugin via the official command.

dsh plugin --profile web add github:swaylq/dsh-wildmon

After installation, use the following command in any session to start the journey.

/mon start

After selecting your companion and claiming 8 spirit balls, just work as usual. Each turn, message, tool call, and error has a chance to startle the bushes.

Typical Usage

The plugin provides the following commands:

  • /mon: View status. If an encounter is active, display the encounter card (character art, rarity, remaining dwell time); otherwise, display the status card.
  • /mon start: Select the starters to begin the journey.
  • /mon throw: Throw one spirit ball at the current encounter.
  • /mon run: Withdraw from the confrontation.
  • /mon dex: View the dex. Captured is ●, witnessed is ◐, and unknown is ○.
  • /mon team: View the team and box.
  • /mon swap <甲> <乙>: Swap positions. Reorder within the team or swap between the team and the box.
  • /mon name <编号> <名字>: Name a Wildmon.
  • /mon story: View the journey chronicle.
  • /mon about: View the mechanism description.

Normal work triggers encounters; use /mon to check the current status.

Runtime Mechanism

The plugin works by listening to DSH events; it does not register tools, does not write session events, and does not consume model tokens.

  • Save location: $DSH_HOME/wildmon/state.json.
  • Sharing mechanism: All profiles on the same host share a single dex.
  • Encounter triggers: Mainly based on events such as agent/turn-stopping, agent/inbox/claimed, tools/result, and agent/error. Probabilities and thresholds are not configurable.
  • No active notification: Encounters are not proactively announced; use /mon to check.

Trust Stance

  • Read: Reads only its own save file; it does not read code or session content.
  • Write: Writes only to $DSH_HOME/wildmon/state.json.
  • Network: No network requests.
  • Model-visible surface: None. Zero token overhead.

Applicable Scenarios and Notes

This plugin is suitable for users who want to add collection fun to their development process. Note:
- Encounters are not actively notified and require periodic checks.
- Probabilities and thresholds are not configurable; the dex and save file are bound to fixed values.
- Inspect the source code and license (MIT) before installing.

Summary

dsh-wildmon fills the gap of “collection” in the DSH ecosystem. With zero overhead, it converts workflow fluctuations into motivation for collecting. The names and character art of all 28 Wildmons are original and unrelated to any official IP.
