In DeepSeek Harness (DSH) Web, interface styles can be extended with plugins in addition to using built-in themes. The dsh-vscode-theme plugin allows directly importing VS Code .vsix theme files into the Web environment. It maps the VS Code workbench palette to DSH UI tokens. The parsing process is completed locally in the browser and does not involve server upload.

Plugin Overview

This plugin is maintained by Sim-xia and belongs to the “Fun Skins” category. It mainly addresses how to bring VS Code themes into DSH Web. Its specific features include:

  • Parses .vsix files in the browser without uploading them to the server.
  • Provides an import UI in the DSH Web settings panel.
  • Maps the VS Code workbench palette to DSH UI tokens.
  • Provides the vscode_theme_parse tool for agents.
  • Supports English and Simplified Chinese interfaces.

Installation

Run the following command in a terminal to install the plugin:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:Sim-xia/dsh-vscode-theme

If building from local source, you can also use the pnpm command. After installation, restart the DSH Web profile to apply the changes. This plugin depends on DSH’s standard fs and tools services.

Using It in the Web Interface

  1. Open DSH Web and go to Settings -> Plugins -> VS Code Themes.
  2. Drag a .vsix file into the import panel, or select a file from your disk.
  3. Imported themes are saved in the browser’s IndexedDB and remain available after refreshing or restarting DSH.
  4. Switch between imported themes using the saved package menu.

Note: Theme parsing is completely performed in the local browser and is not uploaded to the server.

For Agent Use

In addition to UI operations, the plugin registers a tool named vscode_theme_parse for agents to parse VSIX files.

When calling this tool, you must provide the file path, theme name, and detail level. The detail level supports summary or full.

Example request:

{
  "path": "/workspace/piousdeer.adwaita-theme-1.1.0.vsix",
  "theme": "Adwaita Dark",
  "detail": "summary"
}
  • summary mode: Returns metadata, rule count, inherited files, and the first 24 workbench colors, suitable for keeping the context compact.
  • full mode: Returns all parsed colors and token rules.

Technical Details and Notes

  • Interface theme rendering: The plugin maps the VS Code workbench palette (background, text, borders, focus, selection, status bar, sidebar) to DSH UI tokens. However, syntax token colors are only available to the agent parser and do not retheme the DSH interface itself.
  • Development requirements: Local builds require Node.js 22 or higher; runtime compatibility requires Node.js 20.
