Introduction

The Web client for DeepSeek Harness (DSH) renders Markdown images as fixed-width thumbnails by default. When the model returns responses that contain large images, architecture diagrams, or flowcharts, users may have difficulty viewing the details. The sijidoubi/dsh-image-zoom plugin solves this pain point by providing a direct zoom/view function on the page.

Plugin Purpose

This is a client plugin for DeepSeek Harness (dsh), maintained by the user sijidoubi. It does not depend on React or additional services; it is implemented purely with the DOM and focuses on providing a click-to-zoom interaction for Markdown images in chats or documents.

Core Features

After clicking any Markdown image, the plugin opens a fullscreen viewer that supports the following operations:

  • Zoom: Supports continuous zooming with the mouse wheel or the + - buttons, ranging from 100% to 1200%.
  • Pan: After zooming in, supports dragging to pan the image.
  • Control bar: Provides a Fit button (one-click return to fit-to-window), a ⧉ button (open the original image in a new tab), and close actions (Esc key, clicking the background, or ×).
  • Smart filtering: Automatically skips attachment thumbnails (wrapped in a <button>) and images inside any [role="dialog"], avoiding conflicts with system built-in previews.

Installation and Activation

Install the plugin via the command line:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:sijidoubi/dsh-image-zoom

After installation, start the Web client for it to take effect.

Typical Use

  • Basic viewing: Click any Markdown image in a chat to enter fullscreen viewing mode.
  • With Mermaid: When used together with dsh-tool-mermaid, clicking architecture diagrams or flowcharts rendered by the model also opens the viewer instead of navigating to a new tab.

Notes

  • Build script issue: If using pnpm ≥ 10, the first installation may be rejected because of the prepare build script. The fix is to add the prompted package key to the allowBuilds field in the profile’s pnpm-workspace.yaml, then retry.
  • Resource cleanup: The plugin uses a pure DOM implementation; all listeners, DOM elements, and styles are automatically cleaned up when the plugin is unloaded.

Summary

This plugin improves the efficiency of viewing image details in the DSH Web client through simple click interactions. The project is licensed under the MIT License, and the source code is hosted on GitHub.
