Introduction¶
In cross-border business, developers or compliance personnel need to confirm two core questions: which legal entity is actually the contracting party, and whether that entity’s registration records are reliable. A common pain point is that a shared trade name may correspond to multiple independent legal entities (without mutual liability), and registration data often contains contradictions, such as “entity status active” but “registration status expired,” leading to misjudgments.
What Is It?¶
dsh-entity-dd is a plugin for DeepSeek Harness, focused on due diligence for cross-border transaction counterparties. It is maintained by sherconan under the MIT license. The plugin does not depend on private data or API keys and validates information using only free official open data sources.
Core Features¶
The plugin provides three main tools:
1. entity_search: matches legal entities and confirms the intended match.
2. entity_dossier: reviews records and assesses contracting reliability.
3. entity_vat_check: EU VAT validation for cases without a LEI.
Installation and Activation¶
Install it by running the following command in a terminal:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:sherconan/dsh-entity-dd
Typical Usage¶
The standard workflow is to first use entity_search to identify an entity. After the user confirms the selection, run entity_dossier to obtain a detailed assessment. For small businesses without a LEI, entity_vat_check is usually used as an alternative.
Applicable Scenarios and Notes¶
It is suitable for due diligence on established companies that already have a LEI. Note the limitations: it does not perform sanctions or export-control screening; coverage of small manufacturers in Southeast Asia is limited; and it does not constitute a compliance conclusion or legal advice. Review the source code and license before use.
Conclusion¶
This plugin helps developers or users make more prudent decisions in cross-border business through structured data checklists and editable risk rules.
